favorite place to eat out with a group
trying to get a group dinner together with a bunch of friends/couples prob 10 people total..early 30s! we have some living in Queens, Some in Nassau and Some west Suffolk...so I think we are looking mid nassau to "meet in the middle!"
not sure if we want casual/fun or nice like Italian or other...sorry very broad...but we can easily be swayed either direction..
anyone have a fav place/suggestion?!?!

We just went to Matteo's on Jericho Turnpike (family style Italian) with a big group and had a great time. We were there for hours and they didn't bother us at all.

We just did a fun dinner w/ about 6 friends at the Melting Pot in Farmingdale. It's great b/c the booth is round & it's a relaxed place where you're not rushed & the appetizer & dessert are yummy.
Or what about a benihana type place?

I just went to this place but at their new location (45 Merrick Road, I think it is Amityville? not sure) and it was SO GOOD. The portions are HUGE and the food is great. The new one didn't have their liquor license yet when we went (it literally just opened last week) but the other one in Hicksville probably does.

I 2nd the suggestion for Melting Pot.
I did this a couple times with big groups.
However, I suggest just doing appetizers, salad, cheese and chocolate fondue and skipping the entree/meat.
I also love Matteo's so that is another great place. They also have them in various locations.
We like the one in Bellmore.

I like it here too. We had DD's Christening here. I also think Benihana is fun for a group.
There is also a Portuguese BBQ restaurant on Jericho across from Piccola Bussola that I here is very good.

I have always wanted to try Matteo's my MIL lives near the one in Queens..didn't know there was one close to me!
I have been to the melting pot and that was a lot of fun..there was like 6 ladies that went..I will rec that one too!

I went ot a really fun place with friends in Merrick called Grill Fire...
Also Jonathan's on Jericho Trnpke is nice and might be a good point for li and nassau people

Pancho's Border Grill is always fun with a group. They have awesome margaritas and if you are ridiculous like my friends - you can draw filthy pictures on the paper tableclothes
Plus they always have some good special going on.
They are in Great Neck, Island Park and Bethpage.

Hibachi is fun, if you can get one for the 10 of you. There's Shiro in Westbury, which I really like and Showa Hibachi in Wantagh, which I've heard good things about.
