Feb. observation ideas
I got my observation form today that I will be observed in February. I know this is really far in advance but wanted to know if anyone had any creative ideas that tied in eithger Valentine's Day or President's Day with technology. I teach 4th grade.

I used to only get a week to meet, prepare a lesson and teach it....you are very lucky.
I would wait until Jan to start planning something- but I wouldnt ever do a "holiday" lesson for an obseravtion.

Re: Feb. observation ideas
can you book the comp lab? do you have any databases? america the beautiful is a great one for that age and you can have them research presidents.
or do you have a few comps in your class that you could set up as a station? 1st station borrow non fiction pres books from the library - create a timeline of important events?; 2nd station use an atlas to have them fill information about some presidents and the states they are from (maybe So you want to be president could be a lead in for this station? do they mention where the presidents are from?) 3rd station - computers - search whitehouse.gov (there is a kids version) for biographies; and a 4th station could be almanacs?
