feedback on samsung chromebook
Hi!
No experience with these.
For kids. They usually just browse youtube or do homework.
Is this machine enough?
Thanks in advance!!

feedback on samsung chromebook
My son has a Chrome book, they give them out in HS to all of the students. It's a piece of garbage to be honest. Very flimsy, lots of kids have broken theirs, scratched, screens cracked, etc. Not a fan!

Re: feedback on samsung chromebook
I've had a Chromebook for about 2 years now and i love it for what it is ($199!)
its a basic laptop and we have it in our living room/kitchen for when we need to quickly access the internet and need something more than a phone. It's not made for heavy desktop use, but to me works great for what it is.
Be aware that its all Google based software - Google drive, calendar, applications etc.

ITA! My 4th grader uses the Chromebook primarily for his homework. Our district is big on the Google Classroom/Drive. It's a very basis laptop. I wouldn't get it if you are possibly looking to use it for other things in the future. I would spend a bit more and get something that isn't so restrictive.

Re: feedback on samsung chromebook
My DD is in 3rd grade and they use these in her classroom. They have them for all the grades from 3rd up. I am not sure if the district bought them because they are cheap or easy to use or maybe both

Me too. I have had mine for about 16 months and love it!!! I even just bought it for my dad. I think its perfect if you basically want something to surf the web on with a keyboard.
My kids love to use YouTube and Netflix on it. My older son plays games. I have no complains for what it is!

Re: feedback on samsung chromebook
Chromebook is meant to be a simple device as stated above. Think of it as a glorified midrange tablet that is only web enabled.
You may be better off if you like more feature getting a tablet. With a tablet, you can always add a bluetooth keyboard down the road. If you are looking for the mindset of it can dock and be a permanent fixture to the screen, look at the Asus tablets as its a tablet with a keyboard dock. It closes/open just like a laptop.
