Feeding schedule for 1-2 year olds

Sidney seems to snack all day. Never has one big meal. Plus more than 1/2 the time I can't get her in the high chair. But I know she is still hungry cause when I take her out if I'm not fast enough she will eat a piece of food that fell on the floor. Chat Icon
I hate having her eat while she is walking around.

Sooo...can you tell me about your toddler's schedule?
TIA

Re: Feeding schedule for 1-2 year olds

I give her breakfast about 1 hr after she wakes up (around 8am), lunch around 1pm, dinner around 6pm and 1 snack per day. My ped told me that to get her into the routine I had to be consistant and not give into all day snacking. He said once she had a few days of being hungry she'd get into the routine. Good luck, it wasn't easy, I felt really mean. Chat Icon

Before we leave for daycare, DS will get a sippy cup of milk. At daycare, he eats breakfast around 8 or 8:30 and lunch around 12 noon. They also give them a snack with juice around 3pm. He eats dinner between 6-6:30pm and will get another cup of milk around 7.

Oh man....I must really be doing it wrong because she doesn't seem to go more than 2 hours without either food, sippy cup, or boob.

Sarahsmommy....how many cups of milk do you give her? Do you giver her one right when she wakes up or does she just wait till breakfast?

Sidney begs for boob the second she wakes up...I can't even change her diaper 1st Chat Icon

Nate has a big appetite....he eats alot at each meal right? Oh and when you give the sippy of milk...how many ounces does he take per day?

TIA

We're on a similar schedule. Jesse doesn't like juice though so we usually give him yogurt or crackers or cookies. Also, he eats dinner earlier - around 4:30-5PM.

Once he started table foods, the ped told us to get him on 3 meals a day.... So, I wouldn't say he has a big appetite, I think he eats what the average amount a toddler eats. The sippy cup usually has about 6-8 oz, but he doesn't always drink it all.
