Feeding your cat..
How often do you feed your cat? and How much? I feel like "Simba' is always hungry. I also feel he's heavy! How do I know what a healthy weight is for him? I guess the answer would be a trip to the vet? I know he drinks his water (which is great) and he eats his food BUT will not eat wet food only dry. Any advice would be great! TY so much!

Re: Feeding your cat..
We keep having the same question too because our cat always seems like she is hungry - like when it is an hour before dinner time she just cries like crazy like she hasn't eaten in days. She will also eat about anything she can find - she likes, cookies, cake, tomato sauce, she's weird.
But, the first time we brought her to the vet he said she was a little heavy and told us to only give her 1/4 cup of her food AM & PM. So, that's still what we do. She's lost a little bit of weight and the Dr. said she was looking really good, but when we asked if we should give her more he said no, that what we were giving her was fine. Oh, and we feed her only dry - Purina Cat Chow - Indoor formula.

Wow! Thats exactly what we are feeding him too. Its the only thing he will eat. He has never 'touched" 'Human food"! He lives on the nuggets OH and some "Pounce treats" a few, maybe every other day! I cannot understand why he seems like he hardly eats, but looks heavy. TY for your response!

Re: Feeding your cat..
I am with you, my cat seems to be hungry all the time... she eats wet and dry food plus she wants to eat our food as well... from what the vet told me it is good for cats to eat some wet food... you cant do much about cat being hungry, I would try to play with her so she moves after eating...

Re: Feeding your cat..
My cat loves to eat too!! He will eat everything..he gets his nose into everything.. rice pudding, yogurt, and turkey are his favorites! But, I feel like he doesn't gain any weight. That is probably because he is still kind of young.. I leave a decent amount of dry cat food in his bowl (Iams dry food) and when it's low, I fill it up again. I always hear him chomping away.. I actually stopped giving him the wet food. I felt like with that and the dry food, I was over feeding him. So now, it's just dry!
Now that I am home, I try to play with him more and keep him moving especially since he is an indoor cat.

Re: Feeding your cat..
My Chloe eats all day long. It seems as if that is all she does. And, she is not overweight. As a matter of fact, she was underweight for a long time and the vet said that there was nothing wrong with her, but she ate so much and dint' gain any weight!
She only eats dry also and drinks lots of water. won't go near human food and hates treats. Weird...she is the only cat I ever had that doesn't eat can food or treats. But, she loves Bonito flakes!
