Feeling a little sad...

This weekend was that "friends" wedding....

I dont regret sticking up for what I believe is right- and when I think of all the screwed up things shes done to me- I quickly snap out of it

BUT overall- I think wow- 13 years- and I didnt even go to her wedding....

Why do things have to be so hardChat Icon

Yea- well I left her a msg.(because she didnt answer the phone) saying I wasnt gonna make it that night- and that I didnt wanna talk about it....and we'd catch up during the week...

Well- Then I was on the phone getting a million beeps... and had 1000 msg.- the ones from her were just her ****** off... but the other BM literally was CURSING me out- like total HS cr@p- and talking so trashy!

I then called my friend up and had it out with her.... Basically saying that I dont need her having her friends calling my house harassing me- leaving msg. like that on my phone... I have a child in the house blah blah blah....

And then we got into the drinking thing... and midway through the convo- her FH (now DH) picks up and threw the F bomb in there a few times...

and I just hung up- told her I wouldnt be there for the wedding... I didnt need this- and that was it!

Kinda sucks!

That is sad...

But I think you are better off.

It sucks when you grow up and others just don't...I've been there too.

Marissa, the whole situation is a train wreck and you are probably better off removing yourself from it. I think she would continue to do things as a wife and mom that you don't agree with, or that conflict with your values.

I know it's tough to let go of a longtime friendship, but the ones worth keeping don't behave like this.

Ya know-

She walked away from me- shortly after I got married... never saw me in the hospital after having DS- never saw DS until he was 5 months old...

And I got over it... Said- we were on 2 different levels... and one day we'd meet again...

Then she popped back in... and she was her same old selfish self (DH says I shouldnt of let her back in this time)

And here we are all over again-

Except this time- I called the shots.... which is making it soooo much harder...

Re: Feeling a little sad...

I feel for you, but in the end if she was not a good friend to you, and you feel what you did was right, then try not to let it get to you. I had the opposite things happen. I had a friend who I was friends with for 17 years. She was always very needy, but never quite gave back to the friendship what she took. When DH and I got engaged I had asked her to be a bm. we were engaged for a long time and she never called me or returned my phone calls, but after a while I would get some random e-mail from her telling me what a lousy friend I was and that I was never there for her. It would really upset me. We went to go try on BM dresses and she stood me up, would not answer her phone. hours later sshe called and left me a message that she had something else to do and that I shouldn't be upset because I was never there for her anyway (furthest from the truth, actually...i always dropped everything when she called to listen to her problems). Finally 2 days before the wedding she sends me an e-card saying that she hopes my wedding was nice, but she would not be able to attend (she broke up w/ her boyfriend). I was devestated, but never would have imagened doing what your "friend" did. Chalk it up to immaturity. What she did was wrong, and kind of class-less.

Re: Feeling a little sad...

yesterday was my cousin's engagement party. She invited my parents then uninited them by way of email. She also didnt invite any of her first cousins on this side of the family (only cousins invited were the ones who are in the wedding party which is pretty much every cousin on her mothers side). Then the big announcement at her party is that her sister is pregnant and due in May. Ya know what I say "whoopie de f-in doo. well pin a rose on my nose"

People just S$*K. If she wants to be that way let her. karma is a boomerang. Who cares about her. You have a handsome little boy and a wondeful family. Their is going to be a time she'll need you and ya know what you say "f this" and hang up!

Re: Feeling a little sad...

I know how hard this is for you.... I had to do something very similar with one of my girlfriends.. She was someone that was bringing me down also a ver negative person.I grew up and she wasnt at the same place that I am at now... so i had to cut her out of my life.. she was acting very immature and I couldnt take it anymore I was friend with her for a very long time but I had to do it.. things change as you get older, it happens but its not easy. So heres many hugs to you sweetie!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I know how you feel. I am not friends with my MOH anymore and I do miss her and her kids. I miss watching them grow and I do miss her a ton.

I hope one day, she'll grow up, get over the pettiness & call you. If she doesn't, mourn the friendship (well, the parts you liked) because it doesn't sound like a good friend to me.
