Feeling down

I am feeling so down right now about myself. I am not happy with my weight. I think the worst thing is that I know what to do but I can't motivate to do it. During the day, I bring all my food with me, so it's healthy and the right size portions. However once I get home, I want to eat everything in sight. I've made a conscious effort to walk on my lunch hour (the other day I walked 4 miles) but I haven't been to the gym. I just feel like I need some motivation.

Thanks for letting me vent. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Feeling down

one thing you can start doing is go right to the gym after work. Bring your clothes with you so you don't need to go home at all until you are finished with your workout. that way you are not home for that time, and the workout will make you want to eat a nice healthy meal afterwards.

Re: Feeling down

Hollie, you can do it. Once you get there, it becomes a routine and you will get more out of it and actually enjoy it...plus the results.
I do that, bring clothes to work and change there so I have no choice but to go.
Also, I have to meet someone there...my motivation when I dont feel like it.

Re: Feeling down

I totally hear you! I am the same way! I find that it helps to maintain a gym routine whether in the morning or the evening because then I feel too healty to over-eat. Also, try to make plans or get out of the house with your DH in the evenings to get yourself in a routine.

Re: Feeling down

Hollie I can totally relate to you what you said. I am usually good all day and bring lunch from home and then somehow later on in the day when Im out or at home I would snack on something bad (usually sweets) and kill it. Im trying to be better now because I know thats the only way it will pay off.

I agree with the others try to bring your clothes with you or workout in the mornings if you can. I switched to working out in the mornings before work, and I love it. It's out of my way early in the day and theres no excuses after work.

You can do it!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

this is what I do- if I go home after work to "change for the gym" I eat everything and never go

you can do- you have most of the day right- plan something for dinner that is quick and easy-

Thanks everyone! I used to do this... and it worked wonders. I just need to pack my stuff the night before and leave it by the door.

You ladies are the best. Thanks for making me feel better! Chat Icon

Re: Feeling down

I totally used to feel like this. I tried just about everything...until now I finally found a workout that I LOVE...I'm still in the "beginning" stages and have to rest on the "Rest Days"...but would prefer to workout. It's insane! DH thinks I've become possessed! Chat Icon
