Feeling like a bad mommy lately

DD is 17 months old and my normally SWEET, GOOD baby is turning into a very difficult toddler. Yes, I know it's a stage (or so they say), but I find myself yelling more than usual because I can only take so much! She's constantly doing the things she's NOT supposed to be doing and whining ALL day long!! Her nickname lately is "Drama"
I am going back to work in a few weeks and I'm under a lot of pressure lately - going into a new position in the classroom and having MAJOR anxiety about leaving DD come September. I want to be spending as much QUALITY time with her as possible, but I feel like I am so on edge with her behavior lately. PLEASE tell me this is normal - and is there anything I can do to make me more patient?!

So normal it's not even funny. But try this (I did with DS, worked for a few months). Kids feed off of stress. If you are stressed she is more than likely feeling it too. Instead of yelling at her try removing her from the situation and talking with her. Telling her why she isn't suppose to be doing that. I hope it works. AND YOUR NOT A BAD MOMMY!!!!!!! You have a soon to be 2 year old.

You're not a bad mommy In my experience, at that age things got MUCH harder. I went from having the easiest infant ever to having an active toddler with a mind of its own and it was quite the adjustment!

If you find out how to be more patient, please let me know because I am SO done with my kids' behavior of late.

You are not a bad mommy, as they develop their personalities and their own will, they get more difficult. Unless you're a saint, you're going to raise your voice.

I just feel SO short tempered lately and I HATE IT!!
I'm also SO worried that this is DD's TRUE personality and that I have a brat on my hands

I just put a post about my 3 year old suddenly having horrendous tantrums; and I know exactly how you feel. I guess kids test our patience and see what they can get away with. We are not perfect....I guess we are all trying to do the best we can and sometimes it just doesnt feel enough. But knowing other people are going through the same things helps!

Umm please search my last post about my 2 year old I am going thru the same thing!!!! And super stressed about DD starting a new babysitter next week!! I feel your pain, DD has been sooo whiney lately and I want to enjoy DD every day but she tests me too!! I guess its normal based on all the posts from everyone!!

Glad to hear I am not alone!!!

I'm just hoping this is short lived and that my sweet toddler comes back soon!

I really think I need to look at how I'm disciplining her and make some changes because it's not working now
