Feeling like $hit since giving birth 2 1/2 years ago
I have a few questions for you girls and I hoping someone can give me a little insight. I have been nauseous since I was p/g with Peyton. It is killing me. I dry heave(and sometimes vomit) pretty much every day. I can not take it anymore. 8 months pp, they found a piece of Placenta still in me (i had a c/s so this is inexcusible) I had surgey to remove it. They thought this may be the answer to my nausea. It was NOT. I have had every gastro test out there and they say nothing is wrong. I seem to have every symptom of Gallblatter issue but according to my Dr. he does not think that is it(I had a ultrasound) I am not convinced he is right. I can only eat a small amount of food or I feel sick and bloated, super gassy and miserable. I have been getting headaches which I NEVER usually get. I have also been a bit dizzy but not sure if that is just from the nausea. I am MISERABLE. This has been going on for 2 years and 8 months. I just can't anymore. I am getting depressed from it. Has anyone else been through this? The Gyno is starting me on low dose birth control, to see if that will help although my blood tests are normal. I am not happy about this because I got my tubes tied to not HAVE to take BC. I am going back to the Gastro Dr on the 18th and I feel like he is not going to help me

I would see a different gastro doctor and get another opinion. Hope you feel better!

Re: Feeling like $hit since giving birth 2 1/2 years ago
You know just on the basic symptoms you describe it really DOES sound like a Gallbladder issue!!!! I had mine taken out in my twenties - but it took like 16 months for a proper diagnosis and I was sick the WHOLE time!!! The problem was they weren't really looking for that (I didn't fit the "profile" - which my nurse said was "fair, fat, and 40"! By the time they diagnosed it I thought I was going to die - gallstones had completely obstructed the duct that releases bile into the stomach to break down food, so EVERYTHING I ate made me sick at that point.
Can you get to another doctor and request an ultrasound?? That was the only way they were able to see mine. I had surgery a few days later (there was an infection so they needed me on IV antibiotics for a few days before the surgery).
Good luck!!!! IIRC the surgery itself is pretty easy, it's laparoscopic so the incision(s) heal SUPER quickly, I was out of the hosp the day after surgery and recovery took about a week. I have had NO problems ever since!!!!

That is def gall bladder. You need a Hida Scan, an ultra sound shows stones- not how your gall bladdet functions.
You need a new Gastro opinion. Where do you live? I used to work with Gastro, maybe I cam suggest a good one near you.

Sometimes an ultrasound won't show a troubled gallbladder. It will show stones, but if you don't have stones, they might miss other gallbladder issues. See a different gastro. Ask for blood work as well to test liver enzyme levels etc. Do you get any pain under your right rib cage?

I just started with a new Gastro. It is Dr Gallo in Port Jeff. After doing a bunch of tests he wanted me to see my Gyno to rule out some things(I have some gyno issues too). Now I have to go back to him on the 18th. I am totally going to ask him about the Hida Scan. I am willing to switch Dr's again if he does not help me soon because I can not do it anymore. I am a miserable person and everyone around me is sick of it too

Re: Feeling like $hit since giving birth 2 1/2 years ago
have you been checked for an ulcer? The symptoms sound a lot like what my sister went through. She thought it was gallbladder but her gallbladder is fine. It turned out it was an ulcer. She had to take a few different meds to finally fix the problem. But she ia better not. She can finally eat again and live normally. She had gotten so bad that she was severely anemic because she couldn't eat anything. Her protein was dangerously low too. Be careful and find a new gastro. It never hurts to get a second opinion.

Not sure of the proper name of the illness, but there are some people that have a rare reaction to having their tubes tied. It is what made me decide against ever doing it. There is someone on the boards that went through it but I can't remember who it was...

Re: Feeling like $hit since giving birth 2 1/2 years ago
I would get a 2nd opinion from a different GI Dr. it definitely sounds like it could be gall bladder issues. But...
my mother suffered with a GI dr. for over a year who didnt believe her symptoms. It wasnt gallbladder, it wasnt irritable bowel, chrons or any of those, but it was yeast.
Get tested for celiac (and the DNA test which can be more $$ but much more accurate than the blood test) and yeast overgrowth in your stomach. my mother had a lot of nausea, bloating, headaches, etc. She would eat a salad and bloat to the point where she looked pregnant. It mimics Irritable bowel, but she didnt have that. She had her stomach examined so many different ways and nothing came up other than some ulceration in her esphogaus.
please do some research on yeast. its a very common problem that dr's dont even think of.

Have you had a full blood work-up ? I really think you should start there
ETA- I know you said you did have b/w, but was it gyn type b/w or a full panel?

Hmm..I'm not sure then--the gall bladder is located under your liver on your right. I was going to suggest asking about a HIDA scan as well until I saw this--good luck though, I am really sorry you are dealing with this

I have heard a little about this and it has crossed my mind from the beginning. My gyno poopoo'd the idea but I am not so sure. UGH, I have been afraid to google it because from what I understand, it is not fixable.

Re: Feeling like $hit since giving birth 2 1/2 years ago
check online for a yeast spit test. my mom did it. i forget if you do it first thing in the am..
spit into a glass of water and see what your saliva does.
http://www.adhdrelief.com/CandidaTest.html
b/c you may have tested negative for celiac doesnt rule out an overgrowth of yeast in your stomach. and this can wreak havoc on your body.
seriously, its a hugely under-recognized problem in industrialized nations.

Re: Feeling like $hit since giving birth 2 1/2 years ago
I was going to say gall bladder too. I would get another opinion and another u/s or scan. They can also do a radio active dye injection to see if you have any blockages. I had this done in the ER before having my gall bladder removed as emergency surgery. I hope that you feel better soon.
ETA: Do you have a really good internist? I think I would start with them. Have them refer you to people and have these doctor's confir about your issues. Have you been to a neurologist? I would also go to an endocrinologist.

My pain was in the exact same location. I had a ton of blood work and a sono. Nothing was picked up until the Hida Scan.
Good Luck. I hope they figure it out soon.

I had my tubes tied too. The only problem I have is longer periods. I honestly think your issue is a GI one, not a Gyno one. Pain is high up and with nausea. If it was Gyno, it would probably be lower- under the belly button.
