Feeling of Having Twins?

Did anyone have an overwhelming feeling they were having twins and they actually did/are?

I am super early on and haven't even had a sono yet but ever since my BFP I have had this feeling. I should also mention there is no reason to think this, meaning I have no family history or anything else that would point to twins. I just wanted to hear from others if they had this feeling and actually did have twins.

TIA!!!

Re: Feeling of Having Twins?

No. Nope. Never an INKLING I would be having twins. Ever.

It was my 2nd pregnancy- I mentioned to my doc that I was already naseaous early on. She joked and said, "Maybe its twins?" where I laughed and quickly responded..bite your tounge!

that soon changed..the naseau and also to be expected with any pregnancy and felt no different otherwise.

it took an 8wk sono to show there was two. Identical twins.

No genetic history of twins in my family.

Just happened.

Re: Feeling of Having Twins?

We knew at 4 weeks because we were under the care of a RE and had a sono then.

No "feelings" before then.

YUP!! Called it at 7-ish weeks, before my first sono... I just KNEW. And BAM! There they were...

Crazy... shear crazy. And that feeling still hasn't left me - and I'm 18wks.

NEVER! I was in complete shock when the doctor told me he was 2 babies on the sono. I saw it before he said it but was staring at the screen in my state of shock.

I had horrible nausea from before i even got a BFP with my DS and with my twins i was nauseous but not nearly as bad as with him. I didn't expect it at all!

I was a fraternal twin and my mom miscarried my twin at 11 weeks but otherwise no family history.

Re: Feeling of Having Twins?

My grandmother had twins so growing up I was always saying to my friends that when I had babies I was going to have boy girl twins. I said it for years. The week before my 1st sono my DH said maybe its twins this time. Even after all that I was still in shock when my doctor showed me two heartbeats

Re: Feeling of Having Twins?

I did, but I knew that I had a chance. We were working with a RE and I knew I had 3 eggs that cycle. When we went for the first sono I just had this feeling there was more than 1 baby. Chat Icon

Re: Feeling of Having Twins?

Thank again I love hearing these responses.

I go to the doc Friday just for a confirmation appointment but will only be 5w1d so I don't think I will have a sono. Now I have this thought I am hoping there really is 2 in there but of course would be happy either way. This is my second pregnancy.

I had a similar situation. My dad is a twin so as I kid I always thought I'd have twins. But as I grew up I forgot about it. I was SHOCKED when I found out I was having twins, though when I told a childhood friend of mine, she said "you always said you'd have twins!"

Re: Feeling of Having Twins?

I didn't have a clue even though twins run in my family.

I nearly passed out when they told me at 7 weeks there were two in there.

Re: Feeling of Having Twins?

I, actually, did. We have twins in my family and went through IF. When they did my sono at the RE, before I conceived, they only saw one egg (from Femara) and I was disappointed, because I always thought I would have twins.
Then, when they did the first soon after I was pg, at five weeks, they only saw one sac. I STILL felt like it was wrong. At 6wks, they saw 2 heartbeats, and the rest is history Chat Icon

Re: Feeling of Having Twins?

i have no history of twins but i had an inkling

i had a dream when i was about 5 or 6 weeks pregnant that i was having twins. i did not admit it to anyone and when i was hemming and hawing on a new car- it coming into my mind - but i made the decision before i found out - but my car is big enough for all 3 of my boys but a minivn may have been easier with a 2 year old compared to an suv

Re: Feeling of Having Twins?

I had no idea but I have to say for the last 9 while dating, then married to DH, if anyone asked how many kids we wanted, I would always say an older son and twin girls! Always! DH always said, no twins no twins. I REALLY wanted twins so bad! Sure enough, I got them! That is just crazy!

No idea. None. Even tho I went through IVF, and was fully aware of the risks of multiples, it shocked the bejesus out of me. LOL. We originally were pregnant with triplets (sadly one stopped growing at 6w- never had a hb).

Re: Feeling of Having Twins?

Thanks again everyone! I had my appointment on Friday and the doctor did do a sono (very fast) I was only 5w1d. We did see one sac but I am still not convinced that there is only one still. I have been reading about missing a twin on such an early sono. This is so weird to have this feeling. I will keep everyone posted after my next sono at 8weeks.

Re: Feeling of Having Twins?

Last summer I definitely suspected it and I was right! I lost them somewhere between 7 and 9 weeks but - knew right away! I have multiple sets of twins on my side and DH does, as well! Still, I never thought we'd have them! I had a psychoc tell me last year that we were going to have twins and one other child and I laughed it off! I was so overwhelmingly sick and bloated that I kept saying maybe its twins and sure enough when I went in at 7 weeks and they saw 2 sacs, I didn't bat an eye!

I always had a feeling I would have twins even as a young girl. My father is a twin and DH's mother is a twin.

Re: Feeling of Having Twins?

Nope. No idea. Nada. It was my second pregnancy. I had terrible morning sickness but just assumed it was payback for not having nausea my first time around.
