Feelings on Mets not making a trade
ok Met fans... lets discuss.. we have to get this board more fun! its so dead all the time
i totally believe that we need a corner outfielder ..no questions!!
BUT, as far as Manny, and Bay goes.. i think Minaya made the right move.. i mean the Mets do always seem to fall in love with the prospects thinking that they will ALWAYS be stars.. but you just never know.. plain and simple..
it could go either way..
so with that said.. Jason Bay is not the greatest player that the mets should give up 3 prospects for him. Bay is only batting 217 with RISP.. thats terrible .. so i can see where this trade is unfair.. they wanted too much for a average player.
now with Manny, i dont think that would have been good for the team at all being that he is a free agent next year.. so i wouldnt want to take a chance.. and who knows, maybe we can try and get him next year!!
so what are YOUR thoughts on this!!??

I agree with you that Minaya should have made a move for a corner outfield. I just read an article on mlb.com -- here is the link. Minaya expresses in the article that he perceives Manny as a "rental player" because of his free agent status next season. I think they didnt want to trade for him because they will definitely try to sign him in the off season. But this team needs something now and they don't have anyone ready to play, every day in the majors in their system. I think Manny would probably fit in well with the team -- but he is 36 and he is going to want at least 3 years with an option if there is major $ involved. I can see the Mets signing him and doing a huge "Come See Manny at CitiField" advertisement running constantly on SNY!

now i almost want to take back the corner outfield position... their bullpen SUCKS 
they need alot.. put it that way
church is not ready to come back until mid august..and i really doubt he is coming back.. and now maine is on the DL.. that really stinks!

The Mets will most likely pick up someone once they clear waivers. Your corner outfielder is playing in our AAA organization and his name is Valentino Pascucci. He just hit 3 more hr's last night and now has 24 for the year.
We also have Dan Murphy up from the minors now as well.
As far has RP goes Eddie Kunz is now here and he should be fun to watch.
The team is more than happy promoting from within.

yea looks like they are finally going to use their youth!
i definitely think they will pick someone up off waivers..
now everyone is getting hurt though and its pretty scary!!
so we will see what happens
