fell down stairs. . . .

Im 10.5 weeks and I just fell down half of my carpeted stairs. Slid down and landed on my butt.

I was obviously in hysterics thinking I did something to the baby- but only my foot and butt bone hurt.

Chances that everything is ok?

Re: fell down stairs. . . .

i fell pretty hard when i was 14 weeks. I called the Dr and they said to come in if I was spotting or cramping more than usual, otherwise, it's OK. Maybe call the Dr just to be sure?

if it was me, even if i felt 100% fine i would still call the dr and let him tell me what to do and keep him in the loop. but i agree with shorty that unless there's cramping or bleeding you're more than likely fine.

You should be okay, but as a pp stated, call your doc if you have bleeding/spotting.

I fell pretty hard going up the stairs (durrrrr for me!!!!) at the high school where I work... I slammed my stomach on the step and gave myself a pretty decent bruise. I was around 14 weeks along and SO nervous. Called the doc, and everything was fine. Very scary!!!

If it makes you feel better, I was 15 weeks when I asked my doctor if I could go skiing. He said "absolutely." He said that I "could fall down a flight of stairs and the baby would be fine."

Sorry it happened, Babies are so well protected but it must have been scary anyway. Chat Icon

Re: fell down stairs. . . .

Hunny, I am so sorry you fell!!!

I actually fell into the shower and rushed straight to the doctor. Doc told me "it was pretty hard to hurt the baby with that much in between my belly and baby so early on".

Just please be careful! We don't want YOU hurt either! Chat Icon
