I also go to Ovusoft, and saw a post about many RE stopped the use of Femara due to the new studies and statistics, but no one seems to know why. Anyone hear of this??

Re: Femara Study????
Never heard of it. Personally I am very happy with that med. What kind of study was done ?
I did hear that a lot of Re's are limiting clomid cycles more than ever.

Re: Femara Study????
My doc mentioned something about it today when I met with him.
Something about them getting ambiguous results with it - that they weren't sure women were actually ovulating or just showing "masking" signs.
I didn't really get into it with him since we were still moving forward with the Clomid. Sorry.

Re: Femara Study????
When I asked to be put on Femara instead of Clomid, I was told no because there's more history of success with Clomid, but I'm sure that's just bc Femara is just recently being used for fertility purposes. If you find any more info, please let us know! Thanks!

Re: Femara Study????
My body definitely wasn't masking signs of ovulation with it. I had two mature follicules at O time and a progesterone level of 30 at 7 dpo last cycle. This cycle I had 4 mature follicules,, and I have no idea what my progesterone level was, because my clinic for some reason only calls when there is a 'concern', but I will find out.
Personally, I am sticking to this med...until I have to move to IVF. In fact, I have read about people who have had success with femara, and high fsh levels.
I think that post on ovusoft, might have been an isolated occurrence. If you can find the study....please pass it on. I was looking for information but couldn't find any.

Re: Femara Study????
I asked RSONY about it today, the Dr said that the results are only as good as the people studied, and the positive results still stick, but obviously Clomid is much more studied. She said that each person is differeent and should see how each individual reacts before deciding. Sounded good enough for me now...I just was increased to 5 mcg today .
