Fence Estimates
Did you go with the lowest bidder?
We got 3 estimates -
Above All Fencing $5050 Victorian Fence Co $5700 Amendola $5800
We were going to go with the lowest bidder, but Amendola just called for a follow up and when I told him I think we're going with Above All he insinuated their product is inferior. I'm assuming this is a sales tactic but now I'm having doubts.
Ugh!!!

Fence Estimates
You never know, I usually think sales tactic. I always ask them to elaborate on why it is 'inferior' and then I reconfirm with the other company and ask the other company how they are able to come in whatever percentage lower than Amendola.

Re: Fence Estimates
Some vinyl fencing is thinner than others, but I don't know how thin/thick any of the particular brands are, just that a difference exists.

my opinion its a sale tactic. I think what you need to make sure is that the cement each pole into the ground ( I am pretty sure that's what they do) some companies don't but I am pretty sure that all above fencing said they did when they got a quote. Also you should make sure each quote for the same type of style fence some is more than others.

Re: Fence Estimates
Tell Amendolas that you would rather go with them, if they can work with you on price.
I got them to price match a lower quote last year (by about $500).
Worth a shot.

BTW, my contractor was of the opinion that Amendola was a superior product. But really who knows.

Re: Fence Estimates
Yes, it is a sales tactic. Nearly every company that gave estimates always talked about the other company's "inferior" product...

Re: Fence Estimates
We received several quotes for vinyl fencing and actually went with Amendola's. It was installed in February. The reason we went with them was because of their gate. They build each one individually like a window frame. Some fence companies just cut the fence panel and make the gate from that. Not sure if that makes sense or not. My DH was concerned about the gates because sometimes vinyl fence gates get warped and won't close properly. This is why we went with them. Not sure if this is what the salesperson was talking about though. Feel free to FM me with any questions. So far we are happy with the fence though it's only been two months!

I agree with the quality of amendola-I actually do believe there is a difference in PVC quality, and theirs is very good

Re: Fence Estimates
We used Precision. They were excellent from the sales consultation, to installation. They give you a quality fence with an amazing warranty, but they r a little expensive. Youpay extra for a fence that wont sag. I recommended toa bunch of friends and family and everyone was extremely satisfied. Even the sales rep from rose fence told me to go with who ever my neighbor used, and he used precision

this exactly, we got alot of estimates when we did ours and asked alot of questions about it.
We did end using Amendola, and then used them again last year to continue the fencing along the back of our property. And we are having them do our pool fence which is scheduled for tomorrow.
I can say that our mason broke the latch and they came back and fixed it no problem, no questions, no charge. Also the post settled after some other masonry work and it wasn't closing right. Same response that time. Their service has been amazing. We even had them come and remove the fence/gate and reinstall when we had our pool done recently (of course they charged for that understandably).
