Fenugrek (not sure how its spelt)

I have some questions, and i know i could probable find them out on a website, but since i know alot of moms on here use i wanted to asked:

1. Is 3.5 months too late to start?
2. How quickly after you started did you see an increase in supply?
3. Did you or child have any abnormal reactions too?
4. Did you have to change your diet while taking?
5. How often do you take?
6. Do you take a Prenatal with?


I'll most likely consult with my peds or ob before taking, but just wanted to see what others had to say..

I believe you can start to take them any time. Its just a supplement type "vitamin" Its is also said that it make the milk have a dif taste like sytup or something. And you continu to eat as you normally do. ( I no longer BF but did for the 1st 2 months) Beast of luck

-Not sure because I still am a bad pumper but I guess a week or so. I am not sure if it made that much of a difference for me.

3. Did you or child have any abnormal reactions too?
-NO. But it does make your sweat and even your urine smell maple syrupy. I never smelled it on DD though.

4. Did you have to change your diet while taking?
-NO

5. How often do you take?
-3 pills, 3x a day.

6. Do you take a Prenatal with?
-YES

I used fenugreek after 9.5 months of BF. My supply took a major nosedive. The pills did nothing for me but maybe b/c my body was pretty much done. I only made it about 4 weeks beyond that time and had DD on whole milk by 11 months.

I have a strong feeling that it would help you at this stage of the game. Good luck!

ETA: No reaction in DD. No change in diet. Yes took prenatals too.

1. Is 3.5 months too late to start? NO. I started drinking YOGI Nursing Mother Tea at 6.5 months. It contains fenugreek and fennel and some other herbs.

2. How quickly after you started did you see an increase in supply? After the 2nd day of drinking 2-3 cups a day.

3. Did you or child have any abnormal reactions too? Seems to be helping with her gas and digestion.

4. Did you have to change your diet while taking? Nope.

5. How often do you take? I drink 2-3 cups a day.

6. Do you take a Prenatal? I TRY to remember to take my prenatal every night, but have not been so good with it.

i didn't notice too dramatic an increase at all, unfortunately
3. Did you or child have any abnormal reactions too?no, except the maple syrup smell - which isn't offensive, just a bit strange...

5. How often do you take? i took 3 pills, 3 times a day
6. Do you take a Prenatal with? no... to be honest, i was so sick during my pregnancy that i never was able to take prenatals, and i still don't...
