Fertility specialist or Re recomendations?
Does anyone have a really good fertility specialist or Re in the Nassau County area? I have heard that the doctors associated with North Shore are pretty good. I live on the border of Queens and Nassau. Thanks so mcuh.

Re: Fertility specialist or Re recomendations?
I am seeing dr Scholl at NSUH and I've met Dr Rosenfeld and Dr Chu. I am very impressed with the clinic overall.

I would highly suggest LI-IVF. they have an office in Lake Success and have great rates. Good Luck!

Re: Fertility specialist or Re recomendations?
I see Dr. Chu at NSUH....I love their clinic because I always see MY Dr on each visit, they are professional and quick with the appointments and flexible.
I havent yet had to see any of the others dr's there but I hear they are good as well.
AVOID RSONY in my opinion. I feel I wasted 9 months of my life there, and my Dr. Doesnt even know I left...or care for that matter.

Re: Fertility specialist or Re recomendations?
I had bad experiences with East Coast Fertility, so personally I would not recommend them - they've gotten too big I think.
I am going to SIRM and so far am thrilled with the treatment and approach --

Re: Fertility specialist or Re recomendations?
I am so happy for you Diane -- I should have clarified that MY experience wasn't great. Maybe in part due to my own problem, which unfortunately has no quick fix. I think it is wonderful that you are having twins and that East Coast helped you. I hope everything worked out OK with the issues you had with their billing department.

Me three. I requested my records in person today,
I'm sorry, I know a few girls on here had luck with them but they must have had pretty easy cases of infertility for them to solve.
1. I DO NOT ovulate on my own and with drugs it took them 4 cycles to get me to ovulate.
2. I've only ever seen my doctor for consultations. She NEVER examined me or performed one of my IUI's.
3. You have to ask a million questions. They will not call you with results and will not tell you numbers until you ask them point blank.
4. They never remember why I was there? Ummmm... can you look in the chart?
5. They put EVERYONE on the same protocal instead of testing you first to see what your problem(s) might be. EVERYONE goes on 50 mg of Clomid first cycle.
I was up to 150mg of Clomid with Prednesone (3rd cycle on Clomid) before I produced even ONE egg yet my doctor kept saying she didn't want me on injectables for fear of me being overstimulated and possibly getting pregnant with multiples. If it takes numerous rounds of Clomid at 150 mg to get me to produce one egg I don't think we need to fear multiples Doc. What an idiot!
I'm off to NSUH and have an appt. on Monday. I should have gone there all along. One of my co-workers had her son there and my MIL is good friends with a woman who has a daughter and triplets (2 rounds IVF) with them. They are the only people I know, right now, who have live babies through any clinic. Dr. Rosenfeld even attended the Christening of the triplets.
That's my 2 cents. IMO RSofNY is a waste of time for so many women. If you don't need much help you will get pregnant there but then again you probably would have eventually gotten pregnant on your own w/o them.

Re: Fertility specialist or Re recomendations?
I'm adding my 2 cents on RSNY
All of the above plus I had not one but two blocked tubes and they never did an HSG, in fact when I asked for it they said they didn't recommend it

Re: Fertility specialist or Re recomendations?
I also see Dr. Scholl at NSUH (ps- I saw him at the gym today ). Anyway I am very happy with the care I am getting. It is a world of difference than RSNY.
