Fet?

I was wondering if someone can explian FET to me. I have no idea what to expect. As far as medications, cycle length, sonos/bloodwork.
Is it like IVF? How long do you have to wait after a failed cycle?

Thanks. I know its early but I need to know what my next step is!!
Thanks!

Re: Fet?

FET is a lot better on you physically and mentally.
You dont have to take much medication, no injections. The only ones I had to take were the PIO shots in my 2ww.
I think the only medication I was on was Estrace and baby aspirin.
You only go in once a week for sono and blood, because they are just checking the lining of the uterus.

If you have anymore questions, please feel free to askChat Icon

I dont know what the wait was for a failed cycle.
I had a m/c after my first IVF, and I had to wait 2 cycles, but I dont think you have to wait that long.

Re: Fet?

i have to agree with diane, the fet is much easier compared to a regular ivf cycle. i got a bfn in july and was able to do the fet in september. so i guess only one month of a regular cycle before doing it.

i think i only had 2 blood and sonos compared to the million you have with ivf. i was on estrace, doxycycline, medrol, baby aspirin, prog suppositories and then pio after the pregnancy test.

it's not as taxing as a regular ivf and by this point you already feel like a pro with any blood, sonos, shots, that this is cake! good luck!!

Re: Fet?

Much easier...I didn't skip a cycle, we went straight from fresh to frozen.
Estrace pills the first half of your cycle and when the lining is thick enough they do the transfer and I took Dexamethasone, Baby Aspirin, Estrace and Progesterone Suppositories. Also the PIO shots for four days...before and after transfer.
