FET cycle
I have gotten some conflicting info from different people at my dr's office, and I was wondering if any of you veterans had some advice...
BFN on Saturday after our first round of IVF, but we were able to freeze 5 embryos that were all AA or AB. So, the nurse pract. told me to take a month off, and in the meantime make a "cryo consult." So, I called today to make that appointment, and the recpetionist said that she would check, but she did not think I needed another consult since I had an IVF consult. She checked, got back on the phone, and said to call on CD1 to come in CD2. I asked if I needed to take month off, and she said no....
So my questions are: 1) is FET cycle much different from IVF? 2) Did those of you who did a FET have a separate consult? 3) Did you wait a month before moving on to FET?
Thanks so much for your advice!

Re: FET cycle
first, i'm sorry about your bfn.
i did a fet after my first cycle failed. i did have to wait before starting. i got my bfn on july 26th, waited for an august period, then called on sept 6th, went in for blood and sono and started estrace on sept 7th. i would definitely call back and confirm that info. instead of asking the receptionist, can you ask to speak to the nurse or doctor directly?
as far as the difference between a fet and a fresh, it's very different. the fet is much less strain. there are way less visits for monitoring. i only had 2 blood/sonos the whole time. i had about 1 week of injections only (pio). compared to your first cycle, this will feel like cake!
as far as the consult, i don't remember for sure. i think we had a consult after our bfn and he told us everything then.
good luck!! i pray this is the one for you!!!!

Re: FET cycle
Lisa is right, I also waited. Plus you should have a consult with your RE not just to discuss your plan of action with the FET but also to review the failed cycle.
FET is much easier. Good luck!!!!

Re: FET cycle
You have FM. Like everyone said FET was much easiaer on my body mentally and physically. My first IVF ended in as miscarriage, so I had to wait 2 cycles, but now have 7 months old twins boys from my FET.
I just had to have another consult to discuss and sign that we were going to put 2 back again.

Re: FET cycle
sorry about your BFN. I just got a BFN from my IVF cycle as well. I went to see RE and we reviewed the cycle and talked about FET. I have to wait out this month and next, so I am looking at about June before I start.
Good Luck!

Re: FET cycle
Sorry about your BFN
Good Luck with the FET. From what I hear it's much easier and you have some good quality embryo's waiting for you.
