FET IVF failure..Happy New Year
It's a chemical. My beta is 6. Really? 6? Give me a freaking break. I am in utter shock. We did EVERYTHING this cycle. EVERYTHING. Acupuncture 2x a week, drank nasty mud tea, Viagra suppositories from the start, Delestrogen, PIO, lovenox, prednisone, intralipids, baby aspirin, vitamin E. Am I forgetting anything? This was a perfect cycle with 2 perfect grade A 5 day embies. Perfect Dr. Vidali transfer. Boy is he going to be surprised. *** happened? I'm in shock, I'm disappointed, I'm frustrated, I'm angry. I"m all of the above. I don't want to talk to Dr. B. What is there to talk about. Exactly 1 year ago I walked into his office and had a chemical then too. Nothing has changed. I think I need a break. A real one this time. Not a 2 monther but a real break. I know I will never be the same but I want my old body back, my old self. I want to go to the gym again and go on vacations. I want to live without a drug calendar by my nightstand. I just want to be me. A new me. Hopefully this new year will give me the strength.

I am so sorry! Our road is different but I know how frustrating and disappointing this all can be It's just so unfair. Perhaps you can talk to Dr.B about a way he can change the protocol. Does he know what could possibly be the issue that this is happening?

Honestly, I think Dr. B is in disbelief too. Each cycle we've done something different- upped 1 thing, added another. Believe it or not, this is my 1st cycle getting a positive even if it's a "negative" with Dr. B in 1 whole year. The 4 other times I got pregnant, 3 were on my own. I'm not seeing Dr. B until Friday to talk. I honestly don't know what he's going to say. We had talked about adding the Neopogen drug this cycle but b/c everything was great, we didn't.
BTW- when I went for my transfer last monday, two of the ladies at AFS had asked about you!

I know Dr.B is really good about changing things up and figuring out the missing piece of the puzzle... For most of my protocols, no two things are exactly the same! I think talking to him will be good. If anything, he can provide some comfort and maybe he'll have something to say about the next protocol. As far as taking a break... that's a personal decision for you and your DH to decide... but I would at least first talk to Dr.B before you make any decisions!!
And.. people at AFS?! Are they LIF lurkers? I never went to AFS so otherwise I don't know how they would know me!

I seriously could have written this word for word. I know EXACTLY how you are feeling. I wish I could offer you some words of wisdom, i got nada. Just lots of hugs
After my chemical, I really never felt like I lost a "baby", I never even got the chance to feel pregnant. I didn't feel so much sad, as ANGRY and annoyed and loss of hope and strength. I swear it is the most helpless feeling in the world. I'm so done with living my life around my IF calendars....with every vacation day either used or saved up for another appointment, or procedure.
I wish you peace in whatever decisions you come to.

LOL!! NOOOO way! I guess it wasn't you then! Hmm I wonder who they were talking about. Guess I should go to the GTG and we can discuss it there!
And you're right. I'm not going to make any decisions until I talk to Dr. B. I just feel crazy and impulsive now.

Re: FET IVF failure..Happy New Year
im so sorry. i had 2 chemicals while cycling with dr. B as well. but it sounds like hes using all the main protocols to combat whatever immune/thrombo issues you may have. you need to tell him to up his game and look a little deeper. i really believe if theres a treatment for this, he'll find it. you just have to keep your head up and carry on. i know its devastating now, but you will have a happy ending. dr. B will find it for you. that's what he does best.
just take all the time you need and try to hang in there!!

Re: FET IVF failure..Happy New Year
I am so sorry. I recently had my 2nd chemical, both of which were from FET's. I know how you feel. Dh and I are taking a break right now and meeting some new doctors, and in the next month we plan to figure out our game plan going forward. Take some time - as much as it sucks to not be doing something is as nice as it is to drink coffee and lots of wine, exercise and not have to worry about drug/shots. GL to you in 2011!

Re: FET IVF failure..Happy New Year
I have no idea what to even say. I'm so sorry it didn't work again. I started stims today and I don't even feel truly excited because I lost that naive feeling that IVF would get me pregnant. Also, I'm dreading it consuming my life. If you haven't experienced it, you have no idea how it feels. I literally think about this stuff all day. It's horrible.
I say go and talk to Dr. B and then maybe make a couple of consult appointments elsewhere just for peace of mind. I love Dr. B, but maybe a fresh set of eyes will have new insight. Maybe after that you'll decide you want to stay with Dr. B, maybe you want to go to someone new, and maybe you just need a break.

Re: FET IVF failure..Happy New Year
I'm so sorry you are going through this I got my negative beta from a fresh ivf today too, I know how you feel. I plan to move right along but if you truly feel you need a real break than that might be what's best, you née to be in the best emotional state you can be to face this head on. It's funny you mentioned the neupogen bc wewetegoing to do that this cycle toobut didn't and now I want to add it to my next cycle. I do truly believe that dr b will get you there, he will not stop until he gets you your baby! Good luck!
