I wouldn't eat it a restaurant since I don't know how long its been out and it can last a while if kept in brine, but if its packaged and sealed its probably safe.

Re: feta? yes or no?

Mmmm YES! It is pausterized generally, so I wouldn't worry. They are talking about unpasteurized cheese, which is hard to find unless you are talking a gourmet cheese shop.

I would say you're prob safe. You could always ask the waiter. My OB said the only places that it might be questionable are little cafes and such.

Oh yes to pasteurized feta! I craved the Villager Salad at Ayhans during my first pregnancy and ate it all the time. My DC is fine!

Re: feta? yes or no?

At the beginning i only ate the pasteurized (sp?) feta...now at 37 weeks....i eat the good non pasteurized kind! Soooo yummy. I ate the bad kind a few times during my pregnancy...i wasn't too worried about it.

Re: feta? yes or no?

Just had it tonight at the diner...although I did ask the waiter to check and see if it was pasturized before I ordered it.
