fetal eco-cardiogram?

We had our level II last week and everything check out great.

But the doctor is sending me for a fetal eco-cardiogram because of some family history on my husband's side.

Did anyone go for this? Can you tell me what to expect?

I'm not that worried to go, but I'd like to know what to expect.

I had to get one done because of family problems too.

It was soo cool.

It is a very very detailed sono of the baby's heart. They look for holes and any defects. They also record it so the another dr can also check it. Well, that is what they did for me anyway.

They can even see the blood flow. And it is another great chance to see the baby and get more pictures.

I had them check that he was still a boy And they gave me a picture of his privates

I had one after the baby had an irregulat hb during my regular OB visit. It was basically just another sono, but they do a little more scanning of the heart and structures around it. It's really nothing to get too worked up about, it's another chance to see your little one!
