Fever and red blister looking spots all over. Anyone know what this coould be?
My ds is 11 months old and last night we brought him to PM Pediatrics bc his fever was 103.6 after tylonol and a cold bath. They said he has an ear infection. They took an e-xray and his chest is clear (he was breathing weird). I mentioned coxsackie but he said he didnt have the blisters in him mouth yet so he couldnt say if it was. His fever went down a little but now he has the red bumos and no appitite, He will hardly drink his bottle so im thinking his throat is bothering him. Anyone else experience this

DD has similar symptoms and her pedi said that it was either coxsackie or another summer virus that can cause red bumps and a fever. By the next day she was much better.
I hope he feels better!!!

Coxsackie really starts in the throat and mouth. If it's on the outer part of the body, it's usually confined to the palms of the hands and bottom of feet. It could be one of the other virus that cause a fever and then a rash like 5ths or Roseola.

Did his fever break and then the rash came? Was the rash on his trunk? I was thinking roseola.

Also sounds like coxsackie to me. FYI I don't think you are supposed to give cold ro cool baths with fevers because it could make their temp drop so quickly it can cause a febrile seizure. Hope he is feeling better soon

Thank you for your suggestions. The bumps are everywhere not only on feet and hands or on his back. His fever has lowered but now he has no appetite. I will see how he is tomorrow

Did they put him on Amoxicillin for the ear infection? If so, It could be a rash from the meds, its VERY common.

DS broke out in a rash a few days after starting Amoxicillin. It was considered a non-allergic rash b/c he didn't have hives, wasn't itchy and didn't have any trouble breathing. It's very common to have a reaction to Amoxicillin.
