FH's uncle gave us a travel certificate for our engagement....
It's good for 2 nights at any of the follow cities....we don't know where to choose, and we have to make a decision soon.
Palm Springs, CA
Vegas
Pagosa Springs, CO
Branson, MO
Smokey Mountains, TN
Washington DC
Williamsburg, VA
Myrtle Beach, SC (black out June, July, Aug)
Daytona Beach, FL
Orlando, FL
Fort Lauderdale, FL
Destin, FL (black out June, July, Aug)
San Antonio, TX
Neither of us have ever been to the west coast, or Vegas, but part of me wants to look into Ft Lauderdale, and maybe book a short (3 day) cruise out of FL too, so it's a 5 day vacation...
what should i do?

you have holes in your pockets, don't you....
I looked into extending it a few days with a cruise - we can go to Cozumel and Key West out of Fort Lauderdale on a 4 night cruise...and it's pretty cheap, too.
FH is a teacher and in grad school. He has classes and a mandatory internship next summer, so getting him out of here for a week is going to be difficult...

I'd pick somewhere you wouldn't necessarily pick if you were paying.
Ft Lauderdale you could do on your own, ya know?

I see what you're saying....but the cert is only for hotel. We'd still be paying airfare. And it's only 2 days.....come to think of it, I wonder where the he11 he even GOT this cert!
Its from the fairfield hotel chain.

I would do TN and go to the Smokies. Do you guys ski? Or horseback riding.
My other would be Palm Springs, but that is a long flight for 2 days. DH and I flew out to CA once for 2 nights, we need a vacation after our vacation.
The extended cruise sounds like a wonderful idea as well. Just wait till after hurricane season.
That was a terrific gift!!

ETA:I just noticed MO is on there too. My sister was there this summer and fell in love with it. Great if you are outdoorsy.

Washington DC is close enough to enjoy for the 2-nights, plus you can save money by driving or the shuttle planes are realitively inexpensive.
I did this once and I went to Washington DC.

I would definitely do the smoky mountains in TN. When else would you get the chance to go there you know??? Plus I know my uncle goes there every year - hes obsessed with the area and plans to retire there.

Being that I live in CO I don't know if I would pick that one. If you are into skiing in the winter or hiking, biking, etc in spring, summer then OK but if not it might not be a getaway you hoped for. It is really beautiful here though and the mountains are breathtaking and the weather is pretty awesome. They also have hot springs as well.

I'm a fairfield timeshare owner and I'm pretty sure with those certificates, you don't stay at the resorts. You will stay at a hotel nearby, then be expected to sit through a timeshare presentation and then they will give you a gift (cash, dinner, or theater tickets).
If you pick Vegas you will most likely stay at Harrah's.
ETA: Ft Lauderdale is great bc it's so close to Miami (about 30 min drive). So if you plan to take a cruise you can also depart from Miami. Also you can probably extend your stay at any of the locations for a fee (sometimes $59-99/night depending on the location)

thanks but this isn't for Fairfield Timeshare - it's for a Fairfield HOTEL - it's like a Holiday Inn chain. No presentation involved, thank GOD! 
We're not very outdoorsy people - I think Vegas is the way to go FH would loooove that, although I would prefer the cruise.

Sorry! When I looked at your list, I assumed it was the timeshare bc there are resorts in all those locations.
Vegas is definitely the way to go then.
