Fifths disease and third trimerster??

My neice possibly has fifths disease. teh dr said over tehohone it sounds like it but she has an appoitmet tomorrow. i caleld my drs emergency lien and of cours eteh one dr in tehpreactice i dont like calls back and he said findpuit for sure and then we'll take it form there. WHoch is fine b/c i have an appt tuesday but i asked if i am still in anay danger being i am 7 months i had heard its mostly in teh 1st trimest re you ave to worry and he hsaid there is always a risk . now my dh thiks he has to say that to cover himself in case god forbod sometign is wrong i cant sayu you never told me. Any opinions? TIA

They would have tested to see if you were immune in the first trimester. Do you remember if they said you were immune to the parvo virus?

I had a 5th disease scare my first trimester. I was told that it usually only affects women in their 1sr trimester. But even then the chances of anything going wrong is less than 1%. My OB told me they do the parvo test early on in your pregnancy. They sent me for another parvo test anyway when this occured which showed I was clear.
Try not to stress too much. I'm sure you're fine. Besides, I was told we're exposed to it all the time so usually we already have built up immunity to it by the time we're adults.Chat Icon
