Fighting sleep

Isabella fights sleep so hard it starting to slowly drive me nuts! She rarely falls asleep on her own, either me or DH has to hold her, or the swing. I'm not sure what to do. I watch for her tired cues and I've tried just putting her down, but it doesn't work. Sometimes at night it takes me up to 2 hours to help her fall asleep. I know she's tired because she rolls her eyes when I stroke her head and rubs her eyes. Any advice???? I really want her in her crib now, she'll be 3 months next week. She sleeps at night in the pack-n-play in or bedroom. She slepps through the night, so I know I shouldn't complain too much, but I want to help her soothe herself.

Re: Fighting sleep

Have you started any kind of bedtime routine? We do Bath, bottle, bed and when that kid comes out of that bath, his mouth is open like a little birdy for that bottle, once that bottle is finished...he is OUT. What happens after that for us at the moment is a different story...but he does fall asleep right after that bottle and sleeps for sort of 7-8 hours. We started BBB at around 12 weeks and it was a total blessing for us.

Re: Fighting sleep

I have read that by the time they are rubbing their eyes they are overtired so you may want to try putting her down earlier. Also I put my best friends baby to sleep(SHE HAS TWINS) at least 3 times per week. I hold her against my chest and rock her in the glider while i pat her but then I quickly put her down and keep patting her but and she's good to go.

Yes, I do the BBB routine. After the bottle she'll get drowsy and I'll put her down and she'll fuss. She fights it soooo hard. I don't know what else to try.
