Filling snacks and lunches...
I am looking for ideas for snacks and lunches that are filling but healthy.
So far I've done celery with peanut butter. Delicious...but not something I want to eat every day.
TIA!

Re: Filling snacks and lunches...
i LOVE the 60cal. light & fit yogurts...u can get a 12pack at stop & shop for about 6bucks LOVE the vanilla and i'll have that with either strawberries, watermelon, etc.
nuts are great to snack on..VERY filling!
lowfat cheese sticks
if u need a carb fix the Honey Wheat Pretzel twists are yummy.
cucumbers/tomotos w/fat free ranch, balsamic(whichever u prefer) or even baby carrots
sugar-free jello...u can even top it w/some reddiwhip which is super low in everything! GREAT way to get rid of the sweet tooth w/o the calories..

Re: Filling snacks and lunches...
as for lunches i've been doing:
hard boiled eggs
salad (top it with some tuna for a change )
Healthy Ones makes these great little packs of 95% fat free ham, turkey, etc..u can make a sandwhich on whole wheat, lettuce/a little light mayo
grilled chicken w/some cheese & veggies
Yogurt w/granola and some fruit.
try to stick w/very high/lean protein..and NEVER skip breakfast! Also - i try to pick one meal of the day where i'll incorporate carbs..ur body does need them..so if i have carbs(good ones of course ) w/breakfast i'll skip them on lunch & dinner, if i have them w/lunch - then no carbs w/breakfast or dinner..

You ladies are all so good! I don't know why, but lunch needs to be substantial to hold me over or else I come home and raid the pantry! lol

Re: Filling snacks and lunches...
A GREAT snack are the frozen super pretzels.
You want low cal, low fat and high fiber in the stuff you eat.
Fiber One has GREAT products. Like their granola bars and their version of the Pop Tart. Look into those too.
I have also heard studies that it might not be as good as we once thought to drink a ton of water, only what you need. I can't speak authoritatively on the subject but it was on the news recently that it can hurt your liver. Who knows.

Re: Filling snacks and lunches...
Awesome ideas, ladies. Thanks so much.
Now...what kind of nuts? I'm not a huge nut person...though I do LOVE honey roasted...but I guess those aren't good, huh?

Re: Filling snacks and lunches...
I always have walnuts around - since I prefer them. I always hear how great almonds are - but I don't like them

Re: Filling snacks and lunches...
My current daily workday routine is as follows:
Breakfast: Special K w. 1% milk (either cinnamon pecan or vanilla almond)
Mid-morning snack: 2% string cheese
Lunch: Salad – Romaine with 1 plum tomato, walnuts, raisins, a little shaved parm, and lt balsamic vinaigrette
Mid-afternoon snack: Fruit – strawberries, grapes, apples, banana—depends what looks good that week
I find that this keeps me full throughout the day. I also drink tons of water…
