Final straw with my Ped office (little vent)

So I was posting about how I was not "in love" with my Ped office.

So I call at 9am when they open to talk to them about DS spitting up & breathing issues, since I think he is having GERD and/or aspiration issues. I asked if I should bring him in to see the Dr. It is now over 2 hours later and THEY STILL HAVE NOT CALLED ME BACK, and told me to talk to the Dr first before making an appointment. OK I know they can be busy, but they know he is not even 3 weeks & hello, breathing issues with no call back. Am I overreacting here or is this nuts?

I already called another practice from a recommendation (thanks dawnie!) and they were so much more accommodating on the phone, and willing to talk to me & not just rush me off.

Thanks for letting me vent.Chat Icon

Sorry about the frustrations the Peds office is causing. Hope you can get to see a Dr (whether it's the current office or new one) soon!!

I am glad they were nice to you!
They get busy and sometimes I have to wait a little but I always feel that my son is in good hands.

They were great on the phone. Now to just get my records for his whopping 2 visits so I can transition to the new practice.

Me tooChat Icon

The first one was telling me to supplement when Damien had lost weight after he was born (hello BF baby!!) My DH was like I told you so and I said we are getting a different pedChat Icon
The second one had so many Dr's and Damien kept getting the wrong diagnosis from the PA that I was like screw this I want one DR only!! I mean why have a ped if I never see them?

I always have said to parents at my day care (before I became a Mom) that Dr's are human beings before anything else and human beings make mistakes. So always trust your Mommy instinctsChat Icon

Breathing issues deserves a very quick call back.

I know you didn't say he stopped breathing but if it's labored...errh!!!Chat Icon

Glad to hear that you're switching. Make sure to tell them why via a written letter to the doctor.

Thank you, that is what I was saying...... At any rate his breathing is fine now, but they don't know that!

I use the same practice as Dawnie - CPEC Pediatrics. I love all of them there. WE've been seeing Dr. Messina since my DD was born, but all the doctors are great.
