the weather channel (better than the weather one it comes with)
nyc subway map
facebook
groupon
pregnancy apps

Starbucks Mobile Card (hook up your Starbucks card to it and you can pay with your phone in the stores!!)
Beatthetraffic - Live traffic map
ITransitBuddy - awesome if you take the LIRR - it tells you how long until the next train...it also has a number of other major cities public transportation schedules in it too, which I've used while travelling
ICE - In Case of Emergency...you put your medical info (prescriptions, allergies, illnesses) in as well as emergency contacts. In case of an accident emergency personnel can use this to help treat you/contact family
And ITA with pp about The Weather Channel app...it is so much better than the one that comes with the phone!
Also, utilize the Maps app that comes with the phone. You can even just put in a store name and it will bring up the closest locations to you (much better than my car does...I then use the address provided to find directions through my car's GPS. And if for some reason the car cannot find the address, then I use the directions in the map program)
