Finding other couples to hang out with--interesting article
DH are going through the difficulties of finding other couples to hang out with. We're new to NC, and are looking to make new friends to hang out with!
This is an interesting article that ran in the Charlotte Observer today. Worth a read if you're going through the same things that we are!

That's interesting. We're going through that now - we just moved to a new town an hour and a half away from all our family and friends and don't know anyone here. I haven't started my new job yet so I haven't met anyone new, and it's just FH and me sitting around every night watching TV. Oh, and we've gone to the movies 4 times in the past 2 weeks too!
The idea of finding friends online is fine, but that site... I don't know... I have a feeling you'd get a lot of "swingers" on there.

I think it's really hard to meet couples. I work from home(go on appointments about 2X a week) My husband owns a small business with our BIL. We have a few couple friends(mostly from my girlfriends and their husbands) It's definitely like dating--even if you meet a gir you like, you ave to make sure DH will like the husband!
My Stepmother made up cards with her name and nuimber on the front and her likes and dislikes on the back. If she meets someone who is potential friend material she gives them one She's a little kookly though--but its still a cute idea.

Thats the exact thought I had when i read the article. We just moved to a new town too. We were hopng to have other young couples in the neighborhood that we could meet. Yesterday was a block party and despite DH telling me not to have it, we still had one hoping that I would atleast meet some neighbors. The whole side of my block didn't participate! I didn't meet anyone and was really disappointed. Its really hard to make couple friends, but unfortunately, thats what happens as people get older.

I am going through the same thing here in VA. We moved just over a year ago and have yet to meet people that we would like to hang out with. We don't have any kids so that kinda puts people off I feel. Our neighbor next door is nice & I have hung out with her 2 times but we wont be best friends. So if anyone live near the Chesapeake VA area I would love to meet you. We live about 45 mins from Williamsburg.
