Finished Basement Flooding
We have now had some serious flooding in our finished basement 3 times in the past month, all on a side of the house that hasn't previously had water issues. It's weird, there aren't even puddles forming near that part of the house, and very little is coming down the gutter near there. I'm guessing it's a groundwater issue or we have a crack in our foundation.
Anyway, sad to say, but I think we may need to tear apart our lovely finished basement--there is indoor-outdoor carpeting glued to the floor, so we can't pull it up to clean under it. And we have some water marks on the walls in a few places.
So here is my question--has anyone done this? Who would you call, and do you know anyone who tests for mold? I'd love it if someone could check this out for us and tell us if this work is necessary, though unfortunately, my gut tells me it is. I'm not even sure who we call at this point. TIA!

Re: Finished Basement Flooding
we bought our house in 2008 and it has a mostly finished basement. first summer there and we find out that it floods during heavy rain. we had to find the source of the problem first. there are basement waterproofing companies that can help you do this. once you find out how the water is coming in, they can tell you how to hopefully fix it. before we had our sump pump installed, we ripped up the carpet and had a mold company come and take air samples. they inspected the whole basement for mold.
the companies i used were great. fm me if you want their info.
