Finishing my 16th week and just DON'T "feel pregnant"

God, do I hate this. When will my baby kick? I am heavy so seeing myself larger from pregnancy is hard to recognize although I think maybeeee my stomach is changing shape a bit, near my belly button. Maybe not. Is is all in my head? I just cannot wait to BELIEVE I am really pregnant. I am always nervous. I actually sit here and think, did my baby stop breathing! Why do I have this anxiety? Symtoms are long gone so it's so hard. I go for my next appointment on tuesday and for a sono too since 4 weeks ago I was having a tiny bit of spotting (went away) so I cannot wait to again "believe" there is a baby in there. Wonder if we'll get to know the sex too at 16 weeks..hummm.

Thanks for letting me vent ladiesChat Icon

I totally know how you feel!!! You sound like me!! Chat Icon Chat Icon The only thing that keeps me sane is hearing the HB on the fetal doppler I rented because I don't have symptoms anymore either AND (if it makes you feel any better) I am now 18 weeks along and I still haven't felt the baby yet. I heard some people don't feel the baby until as late as 22-23 weeks. Hopefully that won't be me or you but it could happen so try not to stress about it. One of these days we'll get our flutters and kicks!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

same here. Chat Icon I didn't start to really feel pregnant until a few weeks ago when my belly started to come in (around 24 weeks). But up until then, i looked forward to my doctors appointments because i kept thinking to myself "are they sure that there is a baby in there?" Chat Icon

Don't stress! You're not alone! But everything is okay! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

ETA: i also didn't start to feel the "bubbles" that was the baby until after 20 weeks. Now at 29 weeks, i feel the baby kicking all the time. You'll get there! don't worry!

I am right there with you. Aside from the cramps here and there and random symptoms that still come and go, I feel pretty normal. I have an appt on Monday and was actually nervous about it for the first time today. I can't wait for those kicks.

I'm still also confused by the pregnancy math. I thought I was finishing up my 16th week and will be 17 weeks on Sunday and I'm due 10/5. I see that you are due 10/13, but also finishing up your 16th week? I will never get the weeks/months thing.

Re: Finishing my 16th week and just DON'T "feel pregnant"

My first trimester I spent wondering when AF was going to show up! Until he became a Mexican Jumping bean I never felt pregnant all the time. I began feeling movement at about 16 weeks. But even that wasn't daily.

I think I felt myself slowing down this past week and that is what has really reminded me daily that I do have a little gift growing inside.

So, hang in there, it will get better!
