fios price jumping $10 when your contract expires...
...but the ads on tv for new customers are for 79.99 plus free multi room dvr for life.
I called time warner for a quote and they told me 111 with tax plus a 75 dollar activation fee.
Right now my fios bill is 134 for the triple play. No dvrs, no premiums. Dh doesnt want to switch to time warner anyway.
I'm so pizzed! They are penalizing existing customers!
I'd love to cancel the service then reinstate under my dh's name (we have different last names). Anyone think it would work? I'd love to cancel all of it and have no cable or land line!

I got a letter in the mail from them. Says my pricing plan expires soon, so they are jacking it up.

Edited title to be more accurate, not all customers are getting increased in jan, just when your contract is up

We were thinking of canceling and putting it in my name - they suggested this to DH - as ours not only goes up $10 but DH had at his old job a verizon discount so we are losing that too.

That is why we didnt bother switching - we knew they were going to raise the rates when the promo was over.

we cancelled fios to switch over to cable - it turned out to be more expensive that what we were quoted so we switched back to fios and they gave us the promotional ongoing rate which turned out to be cheaper that what we were originally paying with no connection fees.

Re: fios price jumping $10 when your contract expires...
When we got FIOS there was a chart saying how much it would cost year 1, year 2 and year3 plus. Every piece was priced out. No surprises. Year 3 was $10 more. When my cablevision contract expired, our price rose A LOT more than $10, I want to say about $50. We still have so much more w/Fios and $10 more is not much in comparison.

We no longer have the special rate but because they messed up our bill a few times they have given us free services......We ahve all the movie channels. Our bill is still much cheaper than we paid for cable and our service is so much better. I would pay the $10 not to go back to cable.
