Fire?
Has anyone seen on the news about the fire at South Bay School in West Babylon school district? I just saw the end of it on ch 4. How bad is it?

Newsday said the whole building was destroyed.

Here is the link to the story...I was just there last week dropping my nephew off when he had a delayed opening.
As a teacher, its sad to think that everything in your classroom is gone 
Years of curricula in your file cabinets, bookshelves with your favorite books, things you had when you first started teaching. On the other side, thank GOD this fire started when no one was in the building.

Yes that is my district! It is done! They believe it started in the boiler room. The children will be sent to the 4 other schools we have. Who knows what they will do with the teachers,....

It is DH's district too. So very sad to think of all of that being destroyed. The library was just redone, like JUST finished. All gone 
So glad nobody was hurt though

I feel really bad for the teachers, all that is lost. I was at lunch with another teacher friend and we wanted to make a donation of a gift card (s) to a teacher supply store. Does anyone know where we could do that?

I think they decided to send what kids they could to OLOG to use the classrooms on the 2nd floor.
