Firehouses, VFW's, Knights of Columbus places in Nassau for the Halloween GTG???
Can anyone recommend a good place that's not too expensive for the Halloween GTG on October 24th? Is anyone a member of a firehouse? Or any good VFW or KOC locations that are not expensive?
Maybeamommy made this suggestion and so long as it's not too expensive and people don't mind paying $5-$10 (depending on # of people coming and location rental cost), then it would be a nice option to have that would be a guaranteed warm/dry location for the GTG.
Please make suggestions and post the town or phone number if you have it so I can try to reach out to them. If you are a member of a firehouse we could rent, please let me know if I can call them myself or if you would be able to do that on our behalf.

There is an American Legion in Seaford (about 2 blocks away from the Seaford Oyster Bay) that is pretty big, has a parking lot- and I'm pretty sure its very affordable. Here is the info:

Let me ask DH, he is a member of the Long Beach Volunteer Dept, maybe they can do something. Although not sure if Long Beach is too far for people.

What about an open play place? A couple of years ago we did the Halloween GTG at a Mommy and Me place in Holtsville. I dont remember the name though

im having ian's birthday at the vulcan firehouse in lynbrook the week before. it's $450 for 4 hours and includes soda. if we get enough girls together...maybe? ask for Carol Murphy - 516-599-4953

It's $575 for 4 hours + alcohol package ($8 pp) which you are required to buy.

Thanks everyone! Honestly I think the prices are too high and in the end it will be a lot more work to do it at a hall. I think its best to just do it at the park. I hope that's ok with everyone! This way no one has to pay anything and we can maybe do the trunk or treat with the cars so the kids can do some trick or treating and we can all just hang out. Bigger kids can play in a playground, etc.

Sounds perfect to me! This is going to be so much fun! If it rains, it rains...no biggie. I don't think anyone will be out too much.
I would suggest that if anyone is bringing candy for a trunk or treat then they keep the bags and receipts and wait until the actual day. If ti gets cancelled just return the items.
