First Anniversary "Paper" Gift Ideas
I've done the googling but just wanted to know what some of my local brides have given/done for their first wedding anniversary!
I have a vague idea but some new thoughts can't hurt!

I guess it would help to put what I was thinking...
We really are taking a nice weekend trip together as our main "gift" to each other. From that I was going to make a nice momento shadow box or framed art piece with all of the paper items from the trip... map, menu, Bed and Breakfast brochure, drive in movie ticket stubs, matches or placemat from restaurants and such.
Then as a little gift to DH, I found in a list of first anniversary paper suggestions, there were cigars. DH has recently gotten into having a cigar at special occassions. So not to get into the whole cigar afficionado thing, I got him a pocket humidor that holds three cigars (because he always brings one for my brother and brother in law) and I'll get him a few nice cigars.
That's what I was thinking for now because he's really not into ticketed affairs, prints, books or other true paper like items.
Both of our birthdays are the same month so I can always do the cigar thing for that if something better comes to mind!

I read about the Lotto tickets somewhere too. I'll have to remember to do that!
Geez... I cannot even imagine what DH is going to come up with for me! Maybe tomorrow I shall pick up a service menu from my favorite spa and accidentally leave it on his desk!

I got my husband a print from Indigo Nights. It has the night sky exactly how it looked (stars, moon etc.) on our wedding night over the town he grew up in with the date and a special message. He LOVED it. I think the website is indigonights.com

I've seen that and I like it, just don't know how DH would receive it. Most of the unique paper gifts are more my style than DH's.

My DH got me a Waterford paperweight for our first anniversary. We had just found out I was pg so he got one that is baby blocks. I love the paperweight idea for a first anniversary even if it wasn't a baby related thing.

Dh and I didnt exchange but my dad and stepmom gave us a basket filled with napkins, papertowels, cups, plates all in paper, it was so cute, all decorative stuff.

i got him tix to a jets game, for the day before our one yr ann...
we'll see what he gets me, i'm sure it won't be paper, and i know he won't see the significance of the "paper" tickets, he'll be too busy kissing the jets logo
