first appointment today
So I had my first appointment today. Mixed emotions. During the appointment, mostly just spoke about different testing - SA, a HSG. I am CD 5 today, so need to wait till next month for CD 3 blood work. Also waiting for HSG, dr wanted SA results first. So here is the problem - didn't at all apeak about a plan of treatment. I know I have to wait for tests to come back, but I just want to start something. Since it's CD 5, I think I am going to have to wait two whole months till I start something. Also, feel a little unsettled that didn't talk about treatment at all. the upshot - I expected to feel much better after the appointment, but I don't

Re: first appointment today
sounds frustrating but they are doing it the right way. the first test they want to see is an SA. If there is any male factor, they may fast track you right to IVF and not waste more of your time and money. Unfortunatley its cd 5 now so you can't do much with this cycle. But get an SA and they'll test you next cycle and then you should be able to sit down and do a game plan with them. Good luck..

Re: first appointment today
Honestly until the Dr. knows what your problem(s) is/are, s/he will not know what plan of action to take. The CD3 bloodwork is usually the first step and one of the most significant. And normally it takes a few months to get strated anyway, between tests and everything.
I know it is hard but patience has become a necessity on this board. We've all learned that the hard way....

Re: first appointment today
Do they have an idea of what your issue might be? If not...there is no way to determine what treatment / course of action is right for you.
Too many medications and options to choose from.
I KNOW its hard to wait, but you have come this far.

Re: first appointment today
as Kara said, it's hard but we do need patience...
Take this time to get yourself into action - get the needed tests done, if you think you need to lose some weight try and do that now, etc.
Good luck to you!!

Re: first appointment today
I was on CD6 at my first appoint and I'm waiting for AF. I should be getting it this weekend and going for CD3 bloodwork.
Sounds like we're on the same track!
