First big girl panties day a bust
DD has been saying when you're home from work, I go in big girl panties. I figured I'd try this week snce I'm off from school. IL's are here too b/c DH is setting up their swingset...anyway...I put Dora panties on, make a big deal & she's all excited running around the house. I keep telliing her to tell me or nanny if she needs to go on the potty. She's dry & fine for a hour...then she wants to go in backyard so I sit her on the potty (after a fight z she wants the water on b/c "i don't like that sound"--where did that come from)....we sit for 10 minutes, no dice (I was reading to her). She goes outside & 5 minutes later nanny is bringing her inside b/c she wet. This happens 2 more times & reminding her to tell me/nanny & trying her on the potty a couple of times, nothing.
I just don't get it b/c a few months ago she went on the potty a good 10x & was so excited about it.
She'll be 3 in July...not sure what to do.
Another time on the potty she asked me to hold her b/c she didn't want to fall in (she never did)...not sure where these fears are coming from.

Not sure where the fears come from either but they are very real and very difficult to overcome/deal with. DD has a serious fear of auto flushing toilets so going pt while out was a chore. Does she have her own small toilet seat? and she's still afraid she'll fall in? how about a portable potty that sits on the ground so she won't worry? if she is afraid she will avoid going at all costs.

Re: First big girl panties day a bust
Brandon was potty trained ( during the day) for a good month when he was 2..Then one day he just gave it up- almost as if the novelty wore off and he couldn't be bothered anymore....
At 3 it just "clicked" one day and he got it and has never looked back since...I think this type of set back is somewhat normal...Almost like when they go through the " I want to do it myself" stage and then the following month its " I CAN"T ......"
She'll get there
