First Christmas

Thanksgiving was tough, but the first Christmas after my father passed away...**** this is brutal.

I ordered awesome Christmas cards -- not too joyful, not too sad -- and was so looking forward to getting them out. They arrived today and I can't bear to pick them up. I even had the envelopes pre-printed so all I need to do is stick the cards in the envelopes and stamp them. That is all and instead of doing it, I'm sitting here hysterical crying.

Any tips or strategies???

First Christmas

My dad died 10 days ago and I have no advice, just . I didn't get to shop much for the rest of the family and I don't feel like doing anything. I don't want to go anywhere but it's my daughter's first Christmas and I can't miss it. His birthday is this week too-- I guess Christmas is going to suck from now on. :( Sorry this isn't uplifting in any way...

It's very hard. My first Christmas without my mom was very tough. I cried constantly. This is my 3rd without her. The crying has lessened, but I still haven't my moments. When DH sees me hysterically crying out of the blue, he knows and just hugs me. I'm very sorry for your loss. Just take it one day at a time and don't push yourself.
