First Clomid check-up tomorrow: question
I'll be on CD 10 tomorrow and this is my first cycle with Clomid. I'm getting blood and sono done and then running out of there to try to get to work on time; not meeting with a doctor. So I need your help! What starts are they going to tell me from the sono? What numbers should I be looking for? I have no idea what they're looking for (# of growing follies?) and what a good number / size (?) would be and there won't be a doc there to ask.
TIA!

Re: First Clomid check-up tomorrow: question
im guessing your doctor doesnt do the sono? (sorry, im a dr. B girl and he does ALL the sonos himself so im not used to not seeing the RE at every monitoring appt).
anyway if its your first clomid cycle, depending on your d/x, i think ANY follies that have the possibility of being mature (15mm+) is a good sign. clomid is unpredictable and doesnt work for everyone (especially PCOSers) so if you have ANY follies that are growing i would consider it a good sign. even 1 thats nearing maturity is a good sign.

Re: First Clomid check-up tomorrow: question
Thank you FlowerWife!
My RE doesn't do the sonos. I usually have a sono done by the nurse and then wait in a smaller waiting room to talk to my RE. But for these Clomid checkups, they told me that I can get my sono done and then talk to the doc on the phone in the afternoon if I need to get to work (I have to clock into work at 7:30 AM!).
I have PCOS and don't normally ovulate on my own. According to my temps / blood tests I've ovulated once since May. I really hope this Clomid cycle works! I've kind of just assumed it would... pretty naive I guess. Unmedicated, my cycles are 50-80 days or so, so I wonder if anything would be brewing down there on only CD10. Here's to hoping....

i dont want to discourage you, but i had the exact same type of cycles and the same mentality before my one and only clomid cycle. and it did NOTHING for me. i had like one follie that was stalled at 12mm and never matured. we moved right on to injectables after that, and they are MUCHHHHH more effective.
so i hope you respond to clomid and dont have to do anything more. but if you dont respond, dont be discouraged. PCOS is finicky and depending on your particular symptoms/manifestations (ie. hormone levels, etc) different meds may or may not be effective. good luck!!!

Re: First Clomid check-up tomorrow: question
Thanks again for the info. I really hope this cycle works. If it doesn't, statistically my next af would be due in February. I don't know if I could wait that long for round 2!

Re: First Clomid check-up tomorrow: question
I also had very irregular cycles and surprisingly the 1st cycle after starting clomid was 31 days. Then has been around 30 days. Like Flowerwife said, it doesn't work the same for everyone, but there is always a chance that it can work for you. Are yuo doing timed or IUI's?

assuming you ovulated from clomid you should get AF right after the 2WW and be able to start again right away. your cycle length on meds cannot be compared to cycle length off meds.
