First day back to work after a week+ off is rough...
Who made "first thing in the morning" so early!
I got so used to sleeping in late from Christmas until yesterday. 6am came real early today....

Re: First day back to work after a week+ off is rough...
I feel ya! We have all been sleeping in the last week and half until 8-9am. The alarm going off today at 6am was a smack in the face. I am not ready to get back into the routine of regular life, I loved the downtime over the holiday.
Good luck today!

Ugh I hear you. I've been out sick the last two weeks, dreading going back into the office today, for many reasons!

Dreading starting year end close today, along with full time remote learning. Horrible!

Half the population has one more week here (the 6th is a public holiday, so they have limited hours this week). Me, included.

Ugh. I woke up at 5 to use the bathroom and couldn't fall back asleep cringing about having to go to work today.

That is the advantage of working from home. Don't have to get up until after 7 to be dressed and ready for work at 8.

I wake up at 5:50, and I'm at work at 6
I get so much done when I can be on the network before everyone else shows up.

Re: First day back to work after a week+ off is rough...
Technically I can sleep until 830 when I start work, but when DD is in school I'm up at 7 with her. So yes, even though I don't commute or get dressed anymore, today seemed very early and tiring since I was sleeping until 8 am the whole time she was off last week. Ughhh

I am not a morning person so I get on when I need to and if I need to, I would rather work for a little bit after dinner so I don't have as much in the morning :)

I did that in the beginning but decided I needed a regular routine in the morning. I will get dressed, even if sweats or leggings. I feel more awake. lol

I agree. I've slipped into such a depression since being forced to stay home every day. There is zero motivation for anything. I probably need to do something like get into a routine daily as well. My DH keeps telling me I need to . I keep saying yeah yeah I agree then here I am in my robe.

Yes that is not good. I have a routine with dressing and doing laundry and stuff on breaks and lunch. I also then try and work at night so I don't have to do as much in the morning when I am not awake. I did leave my pjs on, on NYE while I worked as I knew I was going out and would get ready later but just didn't feel right all day lol.

Re: First day back to work after a week+ off is rough...
My sleeping schedule has become completely unbridled. I've been teaching at home from March and have an extra long winter break this year. I used to get up at 6:00 (or earlier) but gone are those days. I still keep to a morning routine but not having to commute, find parking, aim to get to the copier before everyone else is in (Teachers, can you relate lol?) has significantly affected how early I need to wake up.

Throughout this whole pandemic while I have been working from home, I have set the alarm (yes, later than if I was going to the office), showered, dressed, and "commuted" to my dining room table. I cannot function if I'm in my pajamas!

The first morning is usually not too bad for me. Come Thursday, I'll be dragging.

Nope. I have been in person teaching since September.
I am up between 4:30-4:45 most days.

What I meant was "Can you relate to copy-machine waits?"
I'm looking forward to going back in person. I have one in-person class starting soon and am excited for it.

That's the silver lining to working nonstop. You can't miss relaxation if you've never felt it before.
