First day of preschool - advice needed.
Its my daughters first day at preschool tomorrow and I am so sad
THis will be her first time out from under my wing. I am a SAHM and a WAHM so she has always been in the house - if she ever needed anything I was there for her...now someone else will be helping her out and hopefully taking care of her needs.
I KNOW I am being ridiculous, I KNOW she will love every second of the day, I KNOW I need to get over myself and not show her how sad I am but how do I get through the morning?
My DH has suggested that he drop her off and that we all pick her up but I will have to do the drop off the next day which will probably be as bad so I should just bite the bullet and go with her in the morning?
She is walking around the house with her back pack on and super excited while her mommy is hiding out in the office crying on top of her laptop

How old is she? How long is she going for?
It's only natural to feel sad about this but try not to let your DD see this. My son started nursery school today - 2 days a week - 2 hours each day - and even though I was scared, sad, and nervous - he only saw my excitement!
She'll be fine!

Re: First day of preschool - advice needed.
Hang in there Mommy!! Do your best to join in DD's excitement so she truly does love school when she actually leaves the house and gets there. I know it won't be easy, but do your best not to let her see you cry. Maybe take some pics of her when you are about to well up, so you can hide your face behind the camera. It is emotional for everyone. You can do it!!

Re: First day of preschool - advice needed.
Thanks. She is 3 1/2 and will be going for 3hrs, 4 mornings a week as I will be back at work soon and I have a newborn to take care of too.
I know I am tired and hormonal from the night feedings with my DS and I am really trying to get a grip but finding it hard.

Re: First day of preschool - advice needed.
I completely understand.
I have been away from DD as I work PT, but she has only been watched by her grandparents. She has never been taken care of by "strangers" before. She had her first day Monday, but it was orientation so I had to stay with her for the hour. Tomorrow is her first real day. I know I am going to sob the whole way home. I know she will love it & that she is bright & needs pre-k (she is 4), but I have dreaded this moment since she was born
