First day of work on our new house
OMG wood paneling is done, funky bright orange walls (which i do like orange but this was a SCARY with the tea mint green secondary walls, a iridescent purply color on another wall and forest green rug) that was a breeze some glue and some damage not sure on what will have to be replaced (sheetrock) BUT by our bow window full damage thanks do a MASSIVE beehive that was thank god not active but HUGE. We also saw the person who installed it used coarboard around the window to nail in trim (not good), ripped up one rug/pad and fixed the bathtub knobs so we can use it.
We also drained the overflow tank on the heater which i would never of known about that, so greatful for my dad and he showed me how to also put on a lighting fixture.
We did our mailbox and then we tried to fix the damper on the fireplace which we got it to open and found out there was a huge nest in there at one point cleaned it out and the damper arm is rusted solid so we have to drill it off and attach a new one so we can use a fireplace.
Money spent = Nothing, now tomorrow since my back is bad i rake leaves and put garbage out and hope they do the pickup i requested. Ah the joys of home ownership.
Video from my phone -short but you get to see

Re: First day of work on our new house
heading back to work tomorrow, doing measurements and some pics tonight. Sunday all i did is buy cleaning supplies, soap and some odds and ends because i needed to rest and show our apartment to prospective renters. I didn't want the landlord to show with out one of us being there.
This is going to be a LONG process but so well worth it we just want the livingroom/dinning room and two bedrooms set. The rest will be down the road.

Re: First day of work on our new house
Can't wait to see pics. You guys got a lot done. Congrats! Just take it one project at a time and it will get done. Don't you just love that people don't care how they fix their home. The previous owners of our house did the same thing. We are still fixing their problems after 2 yrs.
