first home purchase nerves

Please tell me the nerves are normal. We're buying a home well below our budget and I know we can afford it. There's just this little anxiety always present. I hear it's normal.

I keep doing the math to prove we can afford it AND still have money in the bank after closing. Chat Icon Luckily, the numbers work every time! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Am I nuts? We're likely signing the contract on Friday, and I can't believe I'll be writing out such a big check... Chat Icon

I KNOW it's a good move, great home, great deal, etc. I'm just a wee bit emotional about it.

Its perfectly normal. Both times we bought our homes we did the math regularly to prove the same thing to ourselves up until the night before closing! The first time it was also tied into paying for our wedding. The second time it was how much is coming from the sale of the old house, how much from account a, how much from account b.

My wedding is in 10 days, so I know the feeling! Chat Icon

you have a lot going on. It's perfectly normal. We were at each other's throats before we closed. It was a very tense time.

I completely understand what you are going through as we will be going to contract within the next week. It is such a nerve racking thing. We met with a mortgage counsler who said I'm sure you have gone over the numbers, I was like I dream these numbers!!

I am a nervous wreck and we are only moving a few blocks away. I thought I was crazy, but I am glad that I am not the only nervous nelly out there!
