First Internal and Strep B exam tomorrow

Any insight as to what goes on? I know some have said it hurts some say it doesn.. im a little anxious.

And is it totally bad that im wishing she tells me im 3cm dialated at 35 weeks!!!

Linda you aer too funny.

the Strep B is nothing at all - it's a swab. most people get the swab in the front and the back (up the butt) but i did not with DS - however, i've got a new OB so i might this time

the internal hurts some people, doesn't hurt others. they shove their hand ALL the way up in there and feel around. it's no big deal - for me, it was uncomfortable, but didn't hurt.

I did my strep b last week, that was a piece of cake. It was done and over with in just a few seconds. Its just a swab from your vagina and your butt. The swab doesnt go in your butt.

And for the internal , i didnt really get a "real one" bc i didnt have a whole hand shoved up there. She just used her 2 fingers. So it wasnt horrible.

the strep b is nothing. a cotton swab and in a second its done.

i have my first internal tomorrow at almost 39 weeks so i cant help you there..LOL

It was nothing! I didn't even feel him do the swab and the internal was just 2 fingers and it was so quick...like 5 seconds. No pain at all. I was worried about it and then afterwards I was like "really that's it?"

I had an internal on Friday at 30 weeks. I think it is only uncomfortable, then you are like, okay, this isn't so bad, and it's over.

Had the 2 finger thing, and a metal thing...over fast...but not fun, not painful, but not fun!

Like others said - Strep B no biggie. Just a swab.

I've had two internals & personally they were painful - I had two small women doctor's with tiny fingers & it still hurt. I guess it's all just how we're "made up there"...

The strep b swab is no big deal. For me, the internals don't hurt until I'm in labor.

Strep B was nothing at all, it's just a swab although they do swab your rectum too, which ya know isn't pleasant but doesn't hurt!

the internal I had yesterday....I can't lie....it did hurt but not like OH MY GOD I'm going to die from the pain hurt. It's just not comfortable, at all. ETA: My internal was two fingers plus the metal thing b/c she had to test to see if my water broke, so maybe that's why mine was more painful?

Yeah Im sooo done...really im only 35 weeks and Im praying for progress!!
Im going to be quite annoying these next 5 weeks ladies!!!

maybe you will have something going on, i went last week and i was told my cervix is about a fingertip, so i know its not much it my theory is its better them being completely close,

I found that with internals it depends on the doctor. I had one man do it and it hurt, the other times women did it and it was just a little uncomfortable.

I had the strep B test this AM. It's weird can't really describe it. No pain just uncomfy . They didn't do an internal that's next week.

I think the internal depends on who does it. Some people say it hurts, others say it does not. I've had two already, and honestly a pap hurts more imo. i was expecting it to be very painful, and it's so quick it's really not that bad. As for the strep b..that is very quick.
