First night in the toddler bed *Update
and I am afraid to put him in it. We took the crib apart then put the bed together which both took forever Then we set it all up and brought him in and he flipped out crying. He threw his pillow and blanket off the bed and just kept saying no.
Oh jeez. We are in for it tonight. I may have to have him sleep in the pack n play if the bed doesn't work out.
Wish me luck
ETA: Ok Night 2 was last night and he didn't wake up once

Re: First night in the toddler bed
was it hard to take the crib apart? you should do a slow transition. i napped olivia in the crib at night and bed during the day until she was comfortable. then i took off one side of the crib and told her mommy broke the crib. then she was fine sleeping in the bed. was andrew trying to climb out of the crib?

Re: First night in the toddler bed
Ok. So I put him down shortly after posting and he went right down and is still sleeping. I am so mad though I didn't adjust the camera right.
Corinne: We took the whole thing apart and just went cold turkey. He has always been pretty good at sleeping at other people's houses etc. I pray that he sleeps through the night. Andrew did get his leg caught twice trying to get out so that is why we decided to make the switch. We have had it apart in our basement for months now. I am so happy it is out of there

Re: First night in the toddler bed
Did you cry when you took the crib apart?? I did Even though we will both have it back up in a few months, it's so bittersweet The first night for us stunk. She screamed and cried and said no alot. We gated her in the second night and after some screaming and crying she hopped back into bed and fell asleep. Good Luck

Re: First night in the toddler bed
Nicholas used to have that bed!! It's funny because he NEVER slept in it so I sold it and bought him a twin bed. To this day he still talks about his firetruck bed that I gave away with a whining tone
I hope he sleeps all night in it

I was so emotional I kept reflecting on his first night in his crib when he was an infant, the times when he was sick and I would sleep on the floor next to him

Re: First night in the toddler bed
the toddler bed is so cute. glad to hear hes sleeping in it. make sure you have a good night light. olivia was scared being in a big girl bed compared to a crib. good luck with the transition. word of advice dont sleep in the room with them unless you have to. i did at the beginning until olivia fell asleep and then she wanted me to lay down with her every night. i was 9 month pregnant crawling into a twin bed with rails. it was not fun to say the least.
