First sono was today
I had my first sono this morning, and I can't help but feel disappointed that I didn't see the heartbeat  The sac is measuring great, and there's a yolk sac and what looks like the start of the fetal pole (I'm 5w5d). I know it's early to see the heartbeat, bit I wanted to feel a little relief from this worry. Now I'm more worried than ever, I just can't shake this bad feeling now

don't worry its totally normal not to see the HB this early on! Are you going back next week? You'll def be able to see it then!

I have to agree. When I was pg w/ twins we saw 1 heartbeat @ 5w6 days... we went back a few days later and saw both...
It's literally a matter of a day b/t not seeing it and seeing it. I will be 5w5d as well when I go on Friday, and I am nervous that we won't see it either...
As long as the sac, yolk and pole were there, I think you're good.  When do you go back?

Congrats- sounds like the baby is doing great!! You will not see much that early- I have never seen more than a sac and maybe a little pole at the first sono.
It is a rough week- I was a mess, couldn't accept it was real till I saw the HB's. But soon enough you'll be there!!!

you shouldn't really expect to see a heartbeat before 6w. if you do its a bonus but as long as everything is measuring ok then you are doing fine. this is why i never understood why so many REs do routine sonos before 6w..i feel like it just sets up worry and disappointment when a few more days or a week would make you feel so much better!!
sounds like everything is measuring fine, so just hang in there and you will see that heartbeat soon!!

I didn't heat a heartbeat until 6w, your next sono you will be able to hear! Don't worry!

With my l pregnancy, at 5wk5d we saw a sac but couldn't see ANYTHING in it yet!! I freaked out of course... And literally 2 days later we saw a heartbeat!! At this early stage, a day or two makes a world of difference!!

Dont worry we saw 3 sacs at 5wks and they told us one was most likely empty and didnt hear any heartbeats, we went back at 6wks and we heard 3 strong heartbeats, I'm now 21wks with Triplet Girls so good luck and hang in there!!!!!!!!!!!
