first sponge bath for DS

I am going to give my DS his first sponge bath and I wanted to know if I should just use plain warm water for the head and body? Or can you use shampoo and bath wash?

I always washed DD head with head to toe body wash in the sink while she stayed fully clothed first (kept her warm and happy - she doesn't like to be naked), then dried her head. Then I'd lay her down and wash her face first with just a washcloth wet with warm water, then I'd start to undress her I'd use the body wash and work my way down her body. I took her diaper off last...

Hope that helps and have fun. Chat Icon

We used all Johnson & Johnson baby products with our boy from day one, he has a beautiful peachy tushy and lovely rosy cheeks!

When I was sponge bathing DD, I would use the disposable "washcloths" that already had the soap in them. J&J make them as do Huggies. It just made it easier for me. I'd wash her and then just rinse her with a a plain wet washcloth, starting with her head and working my way down.

I use those too, it makes bathtime easier.
