First Teeth and Congestion?

BTDT mommies... My DD Reilly popped her first tooth on Wed. And the second one popped yesterday. It seems at the same time, she has gotten super congested and is running a low fever. I'm assuming that it is from the teething... Yes?

She can barely breathe when laying down flat so we've had to put her carseat in her crib so that she can breathe. I've given her either Tylenol or Motrin for the fever/pain. And have been using the nasal aspirator for the snotty nose. I have the humidifier in her room... She goes for her 6 month appt on Friday.

Did any other Mommies go thru this with their babies when the first teeth came out? How long does it last? Anything else I can be doing for her? TIA!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: First Teeth and Congestion?

Hi Gabi Shane had ALL of those symptoms except the fever! But we gave him Tylenol and Motrin occasionally for the pain as well. He got his bottom 2 teeth at 4 months, I think we had about 3 restless nights and we also had him sleeping in his carseat, the elevation really helped! He had a LOT of congestion too so my best friend was that aspirator, it ounds like you're doing everything there is to do!
Feel better Reilly!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: First Teeth and Congestion?

I always give Motrin because it is an anti inflammatory and will reduce swelling as well as get rid of the pain/reduce fever.

Madelyn never gets a fever- but ALWAYS seems to get congested.
