First time poster!!! And I have questions~!

Which you all will laugh about. My DH and I would want to have a summer baby. (is this ridiculous or not???)

So my questions is when would I have to take myself off the pill? March? Then March and April will be 2 cycles of no pill?

I know that it could take me MONTHS to get preggo, so any advice would be helpful.

Honestly, I would suggest coming off the bill as soon as you can this way you give your body time to regulate itself. I am off of the pill since April & still not regular. My cycles so far have been 27, 35 & 32....

I agree. Also there are so many girls on here who took the pill for a long time and had underelying issues they could not see until they went off. I would suggest going off and being careful or using condoms

I have no BC advice but if you want a summer baby, you want your LMP (last menstrual period) to be in August ( baby in May) September ( June)October (July ) November ( August)

ETA: of course, this isn't fool proof, but rather general advice.

We are going to start TTC in a few weeks because we are both teachers and we want to have the baby in early summer (If all works out to plan).

First youa re not ridiculous for wanting a Summer baby! I am still hoping for one. We've been trying since April with no luck though so I would come off the pill in January/February to let your body adjust for a little while before you start. Good luck!!!

Nancy...first of all this is great news!Chat Icon

Like Kissy suggested...get off the pill ASAP and let your monthly cycle regulate itself for a couple of months and then I would start actively TTC...good luck sweetie!Chat Icon Chat Icon

if you do this, just be prepared that you could get pregnant right away. I got pregnant in August and DS was due May 3rd and was born April 26th.

But having a late April/May baby has been wonderful. I was never pregnant in the heat and I can get away with him being in onesies most of the timeChat Icon

Re: First time poster!!! And I have questions~!

I have heard of some people coming off the pill and getting pregnant right away b/c you could release multiple eggs? Not sure what exactly happens, I went off after being on for 10 years and was regular right away--then started charting to make sure that I was ovulating and I am so it seems the pill had no negative side effects which I was very happy about after being on for so long.

Planning can be difficult but if you use opks or chart to know exactly when you are ovulating you might get lucky! GL!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Completely NOT ridiculous! We've been on hold and plan to start up next month, I'm extemely anxious b/c I really want to get PG so I can give birth in June.

I agree with what some others have said. Come off the pill as soon as possible. Many times the pill does mask issues/problems that we have, so the sooner you come off the sooner you will know. It also gives you time to get your body to regulate itself. That way when it comes to timing your pregnancy you'll have a better chance.
