First time using OPKs

Sorry of that was asked before, but I didn't see this specific question:

I started using OPKs on Sunday, which was CD 11. I got a OPK- on Sunday, OPK+ yesterday CD 12, and just out of curiosity I tested today CD 13 and got a negative. I KNOW the instructions say to stop testing when you get your positive- it just seems kind of early in my cycle to get a ppositive. If I am really going to O wouldn't I get a positive reading for a couple of days?

With that said, we BD last night, will BD tonight, and the day after tomorrow as well. Would that cover all bases? I swear, I feel like there should be a special degree just to TTCChat Icon

yes that def covers it. Is possible you did O this early.

How long are you cycles? Are you just off BCP?

Re: First time using OPKs

I have never gotten a positive opk, two days in a row. I use them in the morning and assume I O somewhere within the next two days.

Why do you think it's early in your cycle to get a postive? Do you normally have particularly long cycles? A positive opk on CD 12 means you probably O around CD 14. Not early at all for a 27-29 day cycle.

Re: First time using OPKs

Up until late 2008, my cycles ranged anywhere from 29-33 days. I was only tracking AF start date, not using anything to track O b/c we weren't trying.

Towards the end of 2008 and through now I've been a bit irregular. This last cycle was 43 days. I know I have been VERY stressed at work and also due to some personal issues. I guess I got so used to longer cycles, that I expected an OPK+ later on. Maybe this cycle will go back to normal?
